I know it's all about opinions, but bloody hell man, Cattermole is definitely not a better player than Scott Parker.
Nags reject Spurs reject way too old and injury prone to be of any use to us at all. Catts does need a kick up the arse or shipping out if I'm honest and better brought in not some aging crock, it's back to Brucies bargains again if we do get him. Can't see it myself he is as said on his last legs so I reckon will want to stay in Laarndan. Has he done any coaching badges or anything like that? That could be a reason to have a look at him but, not as a player a step backwards for me.
Past his best and he'd be on a good wack at Tottenham, also we have enough defensive midfielders who pass the ball sideways, a great player at his peak but it's a no from me
Only drawback on this one is his age, I really cant see the injury prone tag though. appearances (last year first) 28 38 40 33 32 20 41 32 I was a bit gobsmacked when he got player of the year, as there are a lot better players, but he isnt as injury prone as Cattermole or as reckless but he is just as good. (and he is still better than Gareth bloody Barry)
Not that limp wristed fanny. As much as pain Catts can be red card wise, he epitomises a lot of what I want from a player although somewhat limited. Parker isn't so far ahead of him that it would be worthwhile imo.
Totally this. What the **** would we want an overrated, overpaid pile of **** like Parker for? Is this really progress?
Agree with this ^. At 32, £4m and probably a high wage I don`t see him as good value. The way the PDC midfield recruitment seems to be going I`m not sure we need any more.
Never, ever rated the lad. He's like Colback, nice touch and rarely loses the ball, as he has absolutely no ambition with it and gives it short and sideways every time. Add in age and the fact he'd want a big contract, and this would be a pathetic signing for me. We need to go for Milner, younger, more creative, and can also do everything Parker can. Milner would be a smashing signing.
I think we'd have pretty universal support for him here mate, a real grafter, good on the ball, creative, can shoot, likes a battle. He's a proper 'Sunderland type' we all love our Bally's and Benno's more than our Sessegnon's, it's just how we are! Fight for the shirt, we'll love you.
I would not say no for a season with us, IF we can't find/afford a midfielder with bags of composure on the ball. Composure is infectious, We had none last season and we couldn't string 3 passes together most of the season.
