Been twice,Glasgow and Edinburgh but both times on the piss so couldn't give a fair review.I do like the look of the islands so fancy a proper,sober visit some day.

 

Do Arran. It's called Scotland in miniature. Mountainous in the north and flatter in the south. Very good chance of seeing golden eagles in the North. Also do Skye - be warned, it's where midges go for their holidays!

 

Or come to Garelochhead where they live the other 50 weeks of the year

 

Midges are ****s, just light a smoke up.

You'll go 5 rough 100 a day but hey Ho.

 

Drive through Glencoe then onto Mallaig . (Ignore Fort William , it's a ****hole) catch the Ferry to Skye from there . Beautiful drive.

 

I spent a summer working in Loch Lomond. Luckily, as Cieran pointed out, I smoked back then so I went from 10 to about 30 a day.

 

Mind and buy a one way ticket though and cross the bridge to the Kyle on the way back . Another beautiful drive .
