So I am resigning so the club can move on. There was a huge amount of pressure on the club, me and the players to perform, and the fans' criticism only increased it. I talked with the board about my position and about guarantees for the future, but the club couldn't give me those in these precarious times. So I drew my conclusions and decided that it was time to step down.' please log in to view this image This was McClaren's second term at FC Twente, in 2010 he managed to win the Eredivisie Title but left the club to be a manager in the Bundesliga at VFL Wolfsburg.
