It is clear that the pupil had a difficult start to the school year as they struggled with coping with starting a new school although many of his teachers remarked that they could see that he had much potential. The second half of the school year has been markedly better for the pupil. Following a consultation with his both his head of year and head of house (Mr McInnes and Mr Caitlin), it was deemed necessary to move the pupil to a new form as the relationship between him and his tutor Mr Barker had taken a turn for the worse and his work was starting to deteriorate. Under the tutelage of his new tutor Mr Awford, this pupil has begun to flourish and demonstrate the potential which has been seen in him at the beginning of the school year. While there is still room for improvement in areas, the pupil should be very proud of the way that they settled into the school after a difficult start. Mr Lapras Headmaster BA MSc PGCE
Economics A Domestic Science C+ Geography C Woodwork C Technical drawing B Drama B+ After Ofsted having failed to oversee this child's welfare, having been expelled, (partly to his parents reluctance to pay his fees, partly that the boy was accused, but never proved, of raiding other boys tuck boxes) at a series of private "faith schools", perhaps his entry into community schooling will show a marked improvement. There is little doubt the boy has potential, he is a popular lad, gets on well with the other children, his conduct is good for the most part, there has been trouble in the past with one boy in particular, however that boy's parents have paid a large sum of money for a finishing school in Geneva.
The PST/Board running of the club Attainment A- Effort A+ Great effort, particularly as I am sure depsite previous education in other forms of business elsewhere they have found some of the subject matter particularly complex this year Overall team performance at home Attainment B- Effort B+ Struggled early on in lessons and perhaps found the new school hard to come to terms with and get to grips with - but with the right teaching staff the last term was marked by some excellent work Overall team performance away Attainment C Effort C+ Up and down levels of achievement here - complicated by the turnover of staff Goalkeeping and defence Attainment B Effort C+ A lack of concentration in certain lessons led to silly mistakes at critical times in examinations however with focus this improved over the year Midfield Attainment B+ Effort A Worked very hard, particularly in forward thinking sessions however occasionally did let enthusiasm get in the way of common sense and this led to errors in work Attack Attainment B+ Effort A+ The most positive part of the year - sustained approach to the work apart from the term under Mr Barker where for some reason the class lost it's Mojo....however ended the term in fine form Your overall 'headmaster's' comments. Well an interesting first year at the school, punctuated by occasional brilliance and a period where it seemed the class was simply not good enough to be here...that said the effort and commiment shown by the class and staff to get back on track was most impressive and the final term was a resounding success - indeed if that level of application had been eveident all year I believe the marks attained would have led to promotion to a more difficult level.
Do you guys really think you have the right board room group to move you on? Mind you it is likely to get better as time progresses when you can sign and keep your players on long term contracts. That surely has been the hardest task to get over isn't it?
I have complete confidence in the current board and in their ability to move the club onwards and upwards. All these people have "invested" a lot of their own money, which isn't really an investment as they know they won't get any of it back. All the directors are successful businessmen, not billionaires, but successful none-the-less. Agreed they're on a steep learning curve, but really that is no different to your own board, or any other club board - they are there to run the business of the club, not the on-field matters. Very few clubs in the league (apart from the fan owned ones) have owners/board members who are footie people, although some owners are also fans of their clubs. The first thing we know they will do, is keep the club solvent. If that means no particularly long contracts for the players, then so be it - 'budgets' as one of the directors is always saying, will be tightly controlled. As far as the fans are concerned, that is the priority.
Once you have a team of players that can start to gel hopefully you should be ok. You really need a core of players that are half decent which will help you guys move forward. As for us I think we are all a bit nervous that our owner is likely to asset strip as she has done with a few of her other companies. That would be a big downer.......
That's the problem with having a rich owner - they can invest to buy success, but they have their eye on the riches of the PL and sooner or later they want their money back. Too often they don't understand the fans, calling them customers, and they have little appreciation of how the club fits in to its local area. The PL, FA & FL don't want to change the status quo as they're busy creaming off the top - Richard Scudamore is on £1.9m + bonuses. Now if only they could get rid of the dratted FL there would be more money for the PL...............
The PST/Board running of the club - Attainment B, Effort A+ Overall team performance at home - Attainment C, Effort B Overall team performance away - Attainment B-, Effort B+ Goalkeeping and defence - Attainment C-, Effort C Midfield - Attainment B-, Effort B+ Attack - Attainment B, Effort A- Overall 'headmaster's' comments. I do have a lot of sympathy for this pupil. Having moved from a bigger school, a lot of his family put a lot of pressure on him, expecting him to simply turn up and do well. This didn't happen of course although the teaching staff must take their share of the blame for this. Under the guidance of his new teacher, Mr Awford, he has excelled toward the end of the year and I trust that his family will support him and Mr Awford next term, when we have high hopes that he might take a step closer to his advancement to the next class.
