The threads about scapegoating, that's what I'm against. Saying somebody is '****' like that's a valid opinion.
Theres a thread above this one saying 'lets laugh at leeds' why don't some of the negative people on here go on that and do that instead of bashing our own players club and management. Just a thought.
they earn 8 grand or so a week jack hobbs and mckenna should look like world beaters against macclesfield but they didnt. why are our team so small as well, fryatt looked like a little boy to macclesfields defenders, from the defence to the strikers we have no physical presence.devitt goes down like a sack of spuds whenever he can, lets be honest ,he wouldnt get in macclesfields team as he is too lightweight.
Whoever posts on the 'lets laugh at leeds' thread is just making a fool of themselves, being in our position of two home defeats against poor opposition.
Scapegoating is a pretty over used word. For me, a scapegoat is someone who is seen to be at fault for something even when they aren't - Ash used to be the big one, and it looks like Daws will be this year when he plays. Harper however, isn't a scapegoat, no one (that I've seen) has ever blamed him for a defeat, he's just not good enough to start every week in a team that wants to finish top half in the Championship. I know I've come across as negative in the last few days on here, I don't mean too, I'm normally the overly positive one, and if we win at the weekend I will be for Leeds Tuesday night, just the way I'm feeling at the moment...
Harper is a scapegoat on here, the reason he's not mentioned much now is that he's not playing. I wouldn't claim myself he was more than an average player but when he plays he gets my full backing.
I don't think he is, I just think that everyone realises that he was by far the weakest link in our team last season, and should have been nowhere near the first team, and were expressing that opinion on here.
It is only my belief, however I believe that as fans of Hull City we have to reflect on the progress the club has made over the last decade. We reached the Premier League before the majority of us fans felt as though it was in our sites, and because of this our expectations of the club has obviously grown. However, since our slide from the premier league let's just focus on where we are now. We are a club with ambition, no longer in this division are people talking about mid table security or saving off relegation, instead we are talking of promotion!! That is the ambition of the management and the fans. We can all agree/disagree with the clientele of our current squad and their capabilities in helping us gain promotion, but come on people, we are talking about the possibility of promotion to the premier league!! From this yes, whatever new players are brought in, if things don't work straight away fans jump on the band wagon, and it is so easy to blame them, and it is my opinion that some of the new players have been used as scapegoats, the whole squad baring 3/4 players have all under performed so far this season and I am pretty sure they are aware of this. However one thing we must remember is that we have an extremely young squad, and all this talk of player a, player b etc being sh!t£ clearly will not help them or their confidence. By all means folks we are all entitled to our opinions however the one thing that concerns me is how we show this in front of the young players at matches etc. Come on guys and girls lets remember who we are, where we have come from, and how much our aspirations of the club have grown, but also think of the players (yes they may be on good wages) however they are young and will strive on confidence, lets get behind them!! Onwards and Upwards UTT!!!!

our fans need to stop ****ing moaning. full stop. after two games it's all moan and doom. What's happening? take a step back , look at our club, look at positives and enjoy. Losing really pisses me off but for god sake stop moaning, we're not gonna run away with the league.

but what do you want to do???? add a 5th striker? and pay for his wages and fee? what will that achieve? who do we get rid of? do we get rid of anyone? it's not gonna happen just get used to the 4 we have and motivate them
Yeah ok, I take it that when you are at work you try your best, want to please the boss and the people that pay your wages, however at times due to 'whatever' you sometimes do not perform to the best of you ability, reasons for this may be your own fault 'lack of sleep, poor diet,' or may not be 'stress, disagreement with somebody,' When you don't perform your best, you don't feel your best, and it takes something to snap you out of the zone. You may be able to snap yourself out of it, however sometimes you need the help of those around you, to help give you the confidence that you can succeed once again. Footballers are just like us, human beings, so lets support our players and help develop their confidence to succeed their capabilities, stop the rubbish of finding petty arguments to criticise and support them. That is what we call ourselves 'supporters' we are not called 'criticisers' lets leave that to the journalists and do our job in helping our club move forwards.
Its a ****ing message board we are no diffrent from any other message board its somewhere to come and scream and shout no point talking to the mrs she doent give a ****.So you come on here let it out and feel better then move on its a kind of stress release.
Notice in my post Chazz i say unless they show that they don't give a damn about the club then they'll receieve our support. Since Bullard falls into that catergory that explains why JB doesn't receive much if any support. However, Like Thomsen should he play and give a damn he should receive everyone's full support as booing your own players is counterproductive. I don't think anyone denies that when players have poor games they should be criticised, it would be daft not to but there are ways to go about it and to go out and call players **** seems a bit OTT.
surely as fans were entitled to our opinions and if the team as a whole or individual players are putting in poor performances, we're allowed to criticise. admittedly its sometimes a little bit harsh, but usually i think its deserved. all pre-season were told how confident the players are and that there's a real spirit in the camp etc etc... that we're aiming to be in the mix come the end of the season. to add to that we have a smashing pre-season and win all our games including a 3-0 thumping against liverpool. as fans were now brimming with confidence and 'expect' to see this form carried into the real games once the season starts. its no wonder people moan & criticise after 2 poor home games and losing against L2 opposition with a piss poor display. we're built up to be let down and for me we're in our right to complain.
Exactly. I've only seen the Blackpool game so far and, in my opinion, McKenna, Gulacsi, Hobbs, Dudgeon, Fryatt, Barmby and Adebola all had a poor game (arguably **** in some cases). Doesn't mean I'm going to write them off as **** players though, the only thing is, if you start to say that a player had a poor game consistently after a number of games then you're into the territory of them being a **** player vs. having had a **** game (see Harper last season).
On what evidence are you basing his "couldnt give a damn about the club" on? He brought a bird back to the room on a club trip? FFS. He does go to the pub? FFS what English players dont. Do you expect choirboys or something. Im not denying he may be a handful to manage (I cant say he is neither can anyone else on here not that it stops them labelling him) but he has never had any problems with other managers or chairmen. Good players are treat differently and behave differently, that is a fact. Good managers put up with indiscretions for the good of the team, and no not let em ride roughshod but handle them appropriately. Dont you think Fergie has known for years that Giggs was shafting everything that moves, with Adam Pearson there would he be saying its a disgrace get rid of him, of course not.
