Both saubers have been disqualified because of a techincal infringement, That means that both Perez and Kobayashi have lost their 7th and 8th places, this change promotes Felipe Massa to seventh and Sebastien Buemi to eighth. It also means both Force India drivers have moved up into the points, with Adrian Sutil taking ninth and Paul di Resta scoring the final point on his debut.

It took real skill, bravery and maturity to execute such a different strategy to the rest of the field in his first race, he deserved a few points. Secondly, this shows just how finely these cars are scrutinised. If Sauber have been pulled up for that it would be impossible for a team to get away with something like ride height adjustment.
Very unfortunate for Sauber, and mainly for Perez, he drove that car brilliantly, and with only 1 stop, which is pretty impressive. Of the GP2 champions that have come into F1 Perez has probably made the biggest impact, more so than Vettel and Hamilton. I know this is only 1 race, but still, a great performance, and a shame it was taken from him
I was very disappointed to see this. I thought both Sauber drivers deserved their points today, so its a shame to see them lose them over a technical issue.
Its a pity for them, whatever the outcome of the appeal will be another thing. But it shows the scrutiny these cars are constantly under, its tough.
Thats pretty harsh, was just watching the F1 forum on I-player and they had both of the drivers on, what a shame!
Regardless of the disqualification their tyre management may give some teams idea's for Malaysia, idea's that'll probably fail.
I am not surprised that Sauber decided not to appeal the decision. However, after probably the most impressive début drive since Hamilton - and yes, that probably includes Kobayashi - I am very disappointed that Perez has lost 'his' points, through no fault of his own. Still, that's racingââ¬Â¦
It's the right thing for Sauber to do, they should focus their resources on developing the car rather than fighting a punishment which is unlikely to be overturned. Gutted for Perez though, same thing happened to Brundle 27 years ago, he says it only annoys him about once a month now.
Well Ernie, that's my belief too. - A very impressive start to his F1 career and a very level headed, clear thinking chap he is too. I hope he proves to be as good as this early marker suggests. Kobayashi's no slouch, and although his mind may have been elsewhere last weekend, he is a formidable opponent for any team mate, never mind a newcomer in his very first Grand Prix! Yes, I'm mightily impressed.
