For a start Charlton are not as good as Derby are. Just a bump and grind outfit. I expect the same again 3 - 5 - 2 but does SB go with Simpson and Koren again or start with Proschwitz and Gedo. The more interesting team selection in my view will be for the Blackburn game on tuesday. With Rhodes and DJC up top we shall need strength and speed and toughness. What will McShane have left in the tank as by then he shall have played twice a week for 3 weeks. Fitness will be key. Maybe all 3 egyptians will start the Blackburn game. ?
McShane has been brilliant this season in a back 3, but I wouldn't like to see him play right back. If we do change to 442 for the remainer of the season then I would like to see: -------------------Stockdale Rosenoir / Fathi---Chester---Hobbs---Brady Elmo------Koren-------Meyler-------Quinn --------Gedo----Aluko(Simpson on sat)
I think Meyler and Evans as a 2 would be too defensive without enough creativity in there. IMO we need Quinn or Koren (or even both) to be in the middle if we're playing 4 in midfield.
Why when McShane played there last night? If Bruce wanted Rosenior @ right back he would have brought him on @ half time
I agree Tickles, Rosie is one of the best right backs in the league, if Rosie came on that would be 3 changes together at half time - that's far too bold for any manager IMO. It's harsh on Macca because he's had a good season but I wouldn't feel comfortable with him at centre back in a 4 and Rosie is a much better right back.
That would meaning SB would have had to use all three subs at half time. Not a bright idea. I think Fathi was about to come on until they equalised last night.

I would think that Fahti would be ahead of Rosenior if we went to a back 4 and Mcshane wasn't fancied at right back
I always think the same, and I watched carefully but last night McShane did absolutely nothing wrong. Not as adventurous as Rosey, didn't get forward much or put crosses in, just played it nice and simple and kept posession in our favour aswell as a Messi style run dinking the ball over one then round another But to be fair Rosey isn't that great when he gets forward, his crosses either go so high in the air you wonder if they'll clear the roof or out for a goal kick, Elmo is capable of running the right hand line by himself as we've seen when he plays wingback, so I wouldn't be too downbeat about McShane playing there. Solid right flank for sure.
Rosie must be a little rusty. Maybe thats why he is in the reserve team this week? He was outstanding for us last season, hopefully if we do go 442, he will get his chance at RB, using Fathi for DM, or I heard someone mention on here he can even play LB??
Any manager that makes 3 changes with 45 mins to play needs their head examining. One injury and kaput.....
