    Apologies for butting in to mention the main flat race of the day...

    It was a decent performance by Kingston Hill in the Racing Post Trophy, although I would be concerned about the way the horse hung to his right with his head at an angle after he went to the front before being straightened up. He comes from a family that has produced a mile and a half winner so the Derby is not an impossibility if he is not just a mudlark.

    Fans of The Grey Gatsby got a good run for their money but I am not sure that he actually got home and there are stamina doubts in his pedigree.

    Several of the other leading candidates ran dreadful races and that has to put a question mark against the form as, not surprisingly on the going, the time was only around 1 min 44 secs.

    When your luck's in and all that .....................

    Theatrical Star is a monster price in the 4.45 at Chepstow - just 10-2 with young Brendan on board, had his pipe-opener last time out and will love the ground, he's getting a whopping 24lbs from Sire De Grugy (who I can't be having as a 161 horse anyway and will need the run). Majala will need the run and it's too soft for Cornas, the Nicholls horse is the only danger but is his form so much better than the Tizzard horse's? 6/1 Theatrical Star, I'm on.

    A good day for the forum I think - Stanley James is certainly paying for MY chinese take away tonight :D

    As Doctor Harper is a NR in the 5-05 Stratford surely Purple Bay is a snip at 15-8? I actually fancied it to beat DH, just sorry I decided to wait and see how my other bets got on. Still - would have been a rule four to take the gloss off anyway.

    Bit disappointed with the grey gatsby if truth be known..showed up well but then faded badly.... kingston mill did it convincingly ....
