No race at 4.35 :) but I see he is 10/3f in the 4.25 with stall 1 which normally at Beverley is the ideal draw.

Wow can't believe he is that price I was expecting about 7/4 13/8 will appreciate the ground and the step up looks ideal can see why they have bought him back this early for a race like this

Given the sunny forecast for Saturday, I am going to assume that the going will be pretty much Good at Sandown.

Clearly Jim Crowley has gone there because of his retainer and the bookies have decided that his best chance is Owen Borrows’ three year old Najashee, not seen for over two months but looking very fairly treated on his handicap debut after winning a four-runner maiden. His other Hamdan ride does not look an outstanding chance; nor do his rides in the two pattern races.

The Solario Stakes appears to be a case of the potential of maiden race winner Purser, representing John Gosden, who has won the race four times in recent years; or the Royal Ascot form of Masar, who has not been seen since. It is hard to fancy Crowley’s mount Vintager, a 33/1 winner on soft ground at HQ and clearly needing to prove that was not a fluke on quicker turf. Of the others I would prefer Connect over Romanised, who always seems to get going too late.

The Atalanta Stakes looks like a good chance for Sir Michael Stoute’s Imitation if she reproduces her latest effort with Ryan Moore taking the mount on the horse he beat that day, although the form horse is clearly Aljazzi if her second to Qemah is to be trusted. John Gosden’s Nathra has been disappointing and Crowley gets the leg up on his Dancing Breeze. In the absence of any other obvious pacesetter and with the drying ground, this looks an excellent opportunity for David Elsworth’s TISBUTADREAM to make all just as she did over the same trip on Eclipse day for Sylvestre De Sousa.

I do hope that Eve Houghton Johnson’s Silver Ghost runs a big race in the 3:35 but he is burdened with an extra 10lb for his facile course and distance win last time so he will struggle to win.

In the lucky last, I really like the look of SWILLY SUNSET, on to a five-timer for De Sousa after lumping 10st 4lb to victory at HQ in August. He seems to go on any ground and can send favourite backers home with at least enough money for the bus!

Over at Chester, I would like El Astronaute but I cannot overlook the poor outside draw that may see him sufficiently disadvantaged that one of those inside him will benefit. Dane O’Neill will probably do better on the Hamdan horses on the Roodeye than Crowley does in Esher...

For my Saturday spree, had a bit e/w on Penwortham, the bottom weight in the 14:45 at Chester. So-so draw, but he seems to like the track. 10/1 freely available atm.

    Sandown 3pm
Aljazzi 4/1. Outstanding run at Ascot earlier in season..had a break and ready to win this.

Each way saver on Tisbutadream 8/1. Not sure why except is a course and distance winner and it keeps jumping out at me!

Beverley bullet I m taking a chance on Alpha Delphini 15/2 each way.. Trainer has a good record in the race and horse won it last year.

Ok, if memory serves. A win, two seconds and two thirds from five attempts. Going for something with real value this time. :)

Not much of a surprise that this year's Sandown crowd is much smaller than last year. It has moved back a week and it was the Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend in 2016.

Why are Sandown charging £3.50 for a racecard that would be £3 elsewhere?

I note that the Jockey Club official each-way terms for "Handicap races with 16 to 21 runners" are "1/5 odds for finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th". I trust that the Tattersalls Committee are aware of that.

Welcome to forum Sere (well fairly new) Connect not the class required at this level. Nevermind 3 down 5 to go and I'm already in the black :)

Talking of which, I'm already irritated by the ever sycophantic Rishi Passad:(
