7 races at Ascot with a total of just 43 runners, only the bumper scrapes into double figures with 10. Only 6 in the Grade 1 Ascot Chase and a paltry 4 in the Grade 2 Reynoldstown. I don't know how this "field size bonus" is supposed to work, but it clearly isn't having the desired effect.
I have a source who knows willie and he Is very sweet on balleycasey.looking at the form ptit zig should have to much for him but they expect ballycasey to improve from poor last run.happy to watch this one play out.
Like BALDER SUCCES (see Cheltenham thread for reasons why) and IRVING tomorrow and would be surprised if either got beat. NAP of the weekend though. BUDDY BOLERO to finish 8th in the ‘Pertemps Qualifier’. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more. Just what is Tony Martin up to??? Is he going the Pineau De Re route – Pertemps Final then GN?!?
Not quite sure why there running Champagne Fever tomorrow at Gowran. I know they don't want to arrive at Cheltenham on the back of a fall but isn't Fever a horse better 'fresh'.. Mmmm.... The Red Mills Hurdle G2 is usually an informative contest with Hardy Eustace, Macs Joy on the roll of honour and whilst tomorrows contest won't produce that level, Kitten Rock looks highly progressive and could book his Champion Hurdle ticket in style. Ruby Walsh arrived triumphant back into the ole winners enclosure today at Sandown on Mr Mullins only raider, and they set off in pursuit of more sterling to take home with BALLYCASEY tomorrow at Ascot. Clearly Ptit Zig is well fancied from the Nicholls yard but he is a novice and I think he's a bonkers price myself at 9/4. I think we can take him on and get him beat, hopefully with the Irish raider at 4/1.
Can you all keep backing Ptit Zig and Ballycasey coz BALDER SUCCES is getting near a price where I want to get involved....!

If you really do fancy BALLYCASEY to win tomorrow then surely the 40-1 to win this and at the Festival is very tempting!
A very strange offer for Coral priority customers tomorrow. They give you money back if your horse falls throughout the jumps season anyway, but tomorrow it is enhanced to 9/1 to a maximum of £100 per race. Never wanted a horse to fall, but tomorrow I will be looking for horses with more than 1 F in their formline for the season - any horses that "should win with a clear round" tomorrow?
Been bloody frustrated trying to get a decent price about Broadway Buffalo tomorrow. On the ATR website most bookies were between 5-1 and 7-1 but Victor showing 10-1. Went there to find it 11-2! Next best price was SJ at 9-1, went there to find it 6-1. Went to Oddschecker to find 6-1 was best price anywhere so had to take that, but not happy!
2.55 Haydock - Rigadin De Beauchene- 10/1 Well bit of a bizzare choice as his form figures read PP/1PP-P but he was in the exact same boat when he turned this in to an absolute procession. His run at Wariwick would have warmed up for this and got him spot on for what you could argue is his race of the season and he like Silver By Nature can defend his crown. He has course form will like the soft ground and will be race fit. I have changed my mind at the very last minute from MONBEG DUDE just feel he is being aimed at the national and altho he is 2lbs lower than the welsh national just feel he has bigger targets
I too wondered about this one Wooley, but those form figures are VERY off-putting! I'm with Broadway Buffalo in this, although it is wide open, and I could name half a dozen and still miss the winner!
That 2:55 is a tough one to find a winner in. I started looking last night so I can do my usual scoop 6/lucky 63 bet for a Saturday and got the 2:55 narrowed down to: Monbeg Dude, Loch Ba, Harry The Viking, Lie Forrit, Trustan Times but obviously can't be backing all of them. I've never backed Monbeg Dude before there's always been something else I've fancied more in its races and today appears no different so ive ruled that one out even with the champ on board. Harry the Viking I've also ruled out for no other reason than I've decided today it won't be good enough although the price is very tempting. So that left me with three, non of which I was 100% confident of ruling out, so because I backed Trustan Times last time out and remember watching it and thinking to keep an eye out for it next time out do ive kept the faith and put that one in my scoop 6/lucky 63. I have then backed Loch Ba and Lie Forrit in EW singles, combi fc/tc is also on, all small stakes so it hasn't cost me too much but I'm hoping I can turn a profit which is always difficult covering multiple horses in the same race. Therefore in conclusion it's probably worth backing Harry the Viking or Monbeg Dude as I've ruled them out and can't pick me own nose at the moment. My current tipping form almost guarantees the ones I've backed falling at the first or pulling up! Happy punting people hope the Forum has a great day
Off to ascot today, treating my good lady to a day out. Don't fancy much might do an acca 1.30 arpege d'alene 2.05 virak 3.50 Ptit zig Not very original I know but hey. Maybe a bit on Shangani Good luck.
Have a good day Florida. If I took my wife to races for day out she'd think she was been punished, she can't stand any sort sport other than a bit of rugby league!
