He needs to be dropped. On current form he's offering us nothing, Jack and (somehow) Ramsey were much better than him today. We have Rosicky available, we have Arshavin available, either could do a job in the CAM spot. Give Santi a few games off until he recovers, he's looking really jaded out there recently.
Glad someone finally said it. Ever since the hatrick against Reading he has been poor, and for the last two games he's been rubbish.
Rosicky wasn't even on the bench. Did he pick up another injury in training? He just seems to have disappeared.
Would be transformed if we had a top class DM You could let Santi/Jack/Arteta or Diaby do what they do best and attack and score goals
He definitely needs a rest, but judging from similar players, he needs perseverance as well. Best examples are Mata and Silva, both started off fantastically in their first season, then played inconsistently for a bit, and then picked up great form again. I have no doubt it will be the same for Santi. He just needs time to adjust to the league properly, no teams knew how to handle him in the beginning, now they do, so his game needs to adapt.
He needs to be rest and he also needs to be shifted over to the Right Wing Forward posistion, add a good DM to the team and we should be ok in the middle but Wenger wont move him over.
Such nonsense. You dont drop your best player. He's not winning games for us at the moment but he's still having a bigger impact on the game than most the team. Dropping him will considerably weaken an already average side.
You thought that ramsey was better than cazorla??? What planet are you living on? Clearly he needs more help up there, not to be dropped. He's our most creative influence, and moving him to the wing isn't the correct thing to do either. He isn't particularly fast, he has quick feet but in terms of speed across the ground he isn't that quick. And he wouldn't track back, and by playing him on the wing you isolate him. He needs to be in the centre where he can find space and bring others into play. Hopefully with diaby coming back into the team he will get the ball alot more but dropping him certainly isn't the answer.
You don't need pacey wingers. Mata and David Silva prove that. The idea is to get him in a more advanced position so he can create more by cutting infield (like Mata, Villa, or even Messi when he played on the right). It would allow us to put more steel into the midfield, which we clearly need. It would also allow Wilshere to be an AM, which he would be better at than Cazorla IMO.
