Thought Sandro was brilliant last night and indeed has been for a while. My boss at work is Spurs fan and regularly flies over to watch them. He has been singing this guys praises for a while now. Question is why the hell can we not get players like this? Rumour is he cost about £8 million. Quite the bargain if the rumours are correct.

Sounds like a good player- I've not actually seen that much of him. As for why we're not buying players like him, I reckon Fergie has faith in his current midfield to manage until certain youth team prospects are ready. Or at least he did. Maybe after this season, he won't be as sure

Rafael and Fabio were pretty similar buys were they not? How many of you had heard of them before they were bought? Always a gamble when you buy players from Brazil because it is so different here that they find it hard to adapt.

Hernandez for £7.5m and Smalling for £7m have been excellent signings.

    a) As has been pointed out above, we already have bought players of a similr quality to him for less.
    b) It's his first season. Let's see if he keeps that level up consistently.
    c) Had we gone in for him the price would have doubled.
    d) Not convinced he was £8 million given Spurs had a £14 million bid rejected six months before they signed him. The £8 million is all speculation.
