Before Luongo went off, we saw our best football played by us in a long while, with Sandro playing a big part of it.

Ironically I saw several very negative comments about him on the match day thread. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Yes he looked like a class act at times and has a stature on the pitch that comes with a ton of self-confidence but you couldn't help but think that sooner or later he was going to lose the ball in a dangerous position. This is particularly true when we're at home where most opponents choose to press us high up the pitch because we have been vulnerable to that for so long.

He looked very calm to me. But most of his passes were sideways. I loved the fact he was urged to SHOOT by the home crowd every time he moved forwards into their half

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed in Sandro. I expected a more dynamic influence, especially from someone only playing a half. However, I do have to cut him some slack because he can't be match fit, particularly in the sense of being mentally sharp. On reflection, I'm glad he got some game time and I'd like to see him given more of a chance to show what he can do.... before he gets injured again!

Probably. Just looks more confident on the ball at the moment and was determined not to be out muscled by anyone of the opposition.

I saw some rather negative comments on another thread and couldn't have disagreed more with them. He isn't match fit but he did seem to boss the back line when he came on. He will lack a bit of pace until he regains full fitness but he looked good to me.

It basically comes down to if you like Sandro you will see the good in his performance. If you don't like Sandro you will see the negatives in his performance.

Personally, I fall in the don't like camp & didn't see any improvement with him on the pitch & noticed many passes he sprayed out to the right wing that found Brady with regularity.

It also looked to me (on the highlights as against in the ground) that he was the man with Naismith & let him meander off him for the goal.

I thought we looked better with Hall in the holding position, Lynch at centre half & Robinson on the left.

However, we allowed Norwich back into the game not because of Sandro, but because by removing Luongo we had a central two rather than the threesome we had played for 70 minutes.

This is just a personal viewpoint & is not meant to try to convince others that they are wrong or that i'm right. It's just that those in favour won't agree with me & I won't agree that he added to our performance.

He is coming back from no game time give him a real chance if he breaks into the side and can last three games then it's a better evaluation imo

If it's about money by him of course then he can **** off

Striker? FFS he is clearly a goalkeeper

I'm not a big fan of Sandro, but as long he puts in the effort to justify his salary and plays with passion and pride, I will support him because he wears the beloved hoops shirt.

He is clearly more able to influence the game than Karl Henry and as I suspected Ollie introduced him to assert some authority on the game with the Luongo substitution. I think with game time & fitness he could be the Joey Barton type player that we love to hate but recognise that he tries.

New manager means players, in form or not; good or bad, get a clean slate to work from.
The guy has the talent, we all know that.
We just need Ollie to work his magic on him.
Warnock got the best out of Adel so maybe, here's hoping that the same effect with Sandro can happen this time round.

I'd play him in the Judy Dench role in "As Time Goes By".
