http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport...otivation-is-more-medals-not-money.1366647284 If ever any one player has transformed how I thought of him, it's the big man.
To think he was a bit of a hate figure in the support a year ago (I was most prominent in that) and now the fans were chanting his name to get him on at the semi final and he got a hero's welcome when he came on on Sunday.
He was a dick...... Now he's player of the year. It is what is known as a reverse Cuellar. The Greek love machine can smash my plates any time he likes.
I used to absolutely groan when his name was on the teamsheet and berate him every time he dinghyed the easy ball to dribble up a blind alley and lose it. Now, I was amongst the loudest at Hampden wanting him on and seeing him stripped and ready to come on on Sunday was like Hector appearing to the Trojans. I reserve the right to change my mind again, right enough
He's Top Bhoy, right enough Always loved him, no lies. Frustrating and hasn't always commanded a starting berth, but his experience, being settled in Glasgow for a few years and having ability has meant that, at 28, he's really coming in to his own now, and even weirder, seems to be one of the 3 or 4 players who are now integral to the set up. Which, 1/2/3 years ago, would have seemed ****ing mental
You lot pooh poohed me when I kept on going on about how great and beautiful he was. Well, the worm has turned.
I changed my mind a while ago on him also - to the point where I'd be more concerned about losing him than Hooper. If we are going 4-5-1 in Europe he holds the ball up much better than any player we have on the books, and he is able to beat a man for pace - if he only he scored a few more we'd probably be unable to keep hold of him.
I always said he was a great footballer who understood how to play the game and needed a team around him who could do likewise. So. There we have it. I am very clever, yooz are stupid ****s. Sammi. My balls are so heavy for you right now.
Bunch of fannies. Me and SuperHooper knew that Sammy was a legend in the making and were right behind him from the start and we've been proved right. I remember some ****, think it was Bib, who said Sammy looked like a horse wearing a man suit. Well, who's having the last laugh now eh? That's right - me and Super.
