Firstly great result today, the team really showed grit and determination.

One thing that really pleased me was Sammy Ameobi's willingness to beat his man, nearly everytime he got the ball he wasn't scared to take on a few players (shows confidence), and even produced a couple of delievery's. He gave the Everton right back a terrible time.

He did make a couple of mistakes but thats expected of a player with so little experience.

I have to say Pardew has produced a good pacey attacking team and I think Sammy Ameobi will fit in that mold well. All he needs to do is improve on his finishing and final product and I could see him being International standard.

I thought he was OK today, although you can see he has a lot to learn. Think when he does learn, he will become a very good player!

Not gonna lie, Sammy was the most frustrating player on the pitch today. Would rather see Fergie at LW

Where is Fergie? If he isn't going to get games he needs a loan deal.

Hope he hasn't lost his way

I don't think Sammy is ready yet. The guy is an absolute spelk, and looks borderline malnourished.

Looked decent, but it wasn't the right game to bring him on IMO. Also I agree Ferguson needs a loan.

Think Sammy could do with a loan tbh. I know he is getting appearances for us, but if he went to someone like Huddersfield I think he would do class and improve

Said the same thing myself (to one of my cats). Would have felt much happier with Fergie there, particularly when we weren't in possession.

Not that I dislike Sammy or anything, I think he did ok and I want him to get games. I just didn't feel he was the right player for that situation.

What other option was there other than to bring him on?

I don't think Ben arfa would be a good idea on a wing.

sameobi is looking pretty decent and was a good chance to give him some much needed experience and game time. He's always looking to get past the defender and got decent pace so hopefully he can becme a good player for us!

Sammy wasn't awful in general. But just looked a bit lost most the time. Fergie would have been a much better option.

He and Arfa were our only outlet(part from long ball) and he did a great job of running down the wing getting crosses/corners which helped waste a bit of time. He certainly lost the ball less then Arfa.

Some of the criticism he is getting is a tad harsh imo.

As others have said he's still learning. When he came on v Villa a couple of months ago he looked really threatening down the left. Today he came on, made a couple of decent runs but his youthful exuberance got the better of him at times and he made a few wrong decisions. But with experience he'll get better. The next year or so is all about learning for him.

I thought Sammy did well when he came on. It unsettled the side putting Gutierrez on the right though and both of them were guilty of putting crosses in when they should really have run it into the corner.

Most frustrating player for me was Best, he spends so much time offside he'll be able to claim residency there soon enough. Half the time we're effectively playing with ten men because he's inactive. <steam>

Don't give him to Huddersfield, we loaned Danny Ward, a good attacking player to Huddersfield and then they proceed to buy him for 500K :(
