After watching England over the last 2 games I've been some what disappointed! Yes they've done the most important thing n that's to win n to I understand they were away, so hats off to them!! But for me they may be a team full of young new faces but there game style hasn't changed! They lack penetration n creativity...surely Lancaster must experiment a bit with the team!! The wingers are non existent the centre partnership are too similar n the only one with that spark is Foden! You look at Ashton or Strettle I can't off the top of my head remember seeing them come off there wing looking for the ball compared to the likes of George North, Alex Cuthbert, Tommy Bowe etc. Farrell to me has impressed with his kicking n for 20 looks great but at 12 he just hasn't got the finesse or power to punch holes in defence surely he's the future 10 for English rugby so why not start him there?! And if fit I would then have Toby Flood at 12... I would drop Strettle n may be bold n try Foden there his power n angle of running will give England that little something n put Brown at 15 he's done well this season!! Care has got to be dropped n Dickson to start along with Morgan he's a class number 8 n is by far England's best ball carrier!! There are positives the pack held well against the Italians pack which I was very surprised at! Defence has been good but not really been tested! Yes I'm welsh but I for one want England to do well along with all the northern hemisphere sides a strong six nations is only a good thing for all countries involved!! What's your thoughts?!
don't care really mate..... just want to beat/smash them in 2 weeks, hopefully. I am totally indifferent to English rugby.
I nearly agree lateboy87, I think we need to start with Farrell at 10 and with Manu back we'll have a ball carrier in the midfield. England have 2 weeks to start teaching our team some attacking prowess as we are too flat and predictable at the moment. We need morgan at 8 and get Ashton or Strettle to get on his soldier for the off load. I want to see our backs move around looking for miss matches. It all comes down to the coaching though because if you watch Leicester or Northampton you will see good attacking play. Personally I don't think Lancaster will get the England job and I hope not. We need a new coach with new ideas like Wales have got with Gatland.
Yeah you nailed it on the head about Northampton and Leicester!! Sadly you got half the back line from Saracens...Toby Flood, Manu are needed badly!!! I know Flood is almost fit n should be ok for the Welsh game but not sure on Manu...??
Manu played with Flood at the weekend so both will be back. Along with Lawes in the second row so our team is already looking better. I have a feeling Lancaster will make the wrong decisions though as I have no trust in the man. He's talking himself into the job though and that scares me.
Well speaking before the Italy game he more or less said he doesn't want to keep changing the team!! So IMO I don't think he'll bring in toby or manu as they haven't featured at all yet due to injury but he's got to pick Morgan and Dickson!! Otherwise the RFU should sack him there n then...
