Regardless of who we have to play in CB surely we should be going for him? ****ing QPR are favourites (with all respect to them) we should definitely be looking to sign him. He's class!
Agree that he looks a class act...However, I have a sneaky feeling that he will end up going to one of the teams who are chasing Champions League places this transfer window..
Been saying get this lad for over a year now big strong and scores the odd goal as well, we'd be stupid not to at least match QPRs bid.
'Arry has been in the press saying he has a lot of admiration for Samba. Redknapp is already in the press looking to unsettle him. I hate how Harry goes about his business.
He's good, but he ain't daft... He'll go to who-ever makes his wallet the fattest....And that won't be SAFC.
8 mil seems to steep for a player we don't really need. Would much rather that was spent on snapping up a striker.
He fits in perfectly with MoN's style of play. Saint Marty loves to let teams come at us, get players forward change their mentality from one of defense to offense... and just when they think they are in control, we counter. Our game needs us to be very strong in defense. Solid as a rock to soak up the attacks before we counter. Samba is such a rock. He was superb vs us in MoNs first game in charge. We could have one by alot more (and sooner) if it wasn't for Samba. Admittedly Dann had a good game aswell. But Samba was MOM for me. I think he is just what we need.
Scott Dann had a very good game that day but he's ballsed thing up since then. Sorry, couldn't resist.
Yeah Billy, Dann had a good game aswell. Just that Samba was always there to get a head on a ball we put in, to block a shot, the close down and give the strikers no room. Samba is pretty consistent when it comes to defending. A rock. Dann isn't as consistent, as you mentioned. But throughout the season, even Wesley Brown has been a bit inconsistent. Own goal at Manyoo, gave away a pass to let a team score (cant remember which match tho ): Samba in the middle would mean against teams like Stoke, we stand more of a chance with Delaps throws and their very physical game.
I think he is a good player, but for a team with about half a dozen premier league quality centre backs and no premier league quality goalscorers, I think the priority lies else where.
Samba is the best CB in the league, and if we have a sniff of him, we should try. How he has remained at Blackburn this long astounds me, he has everything as a defender, and he is canny on the ball too, and he is a menace from corners. I´d be happy as a pig in a vatt of the finest ****e if we signed him. I agree a striker is the most important, but if you can buy a player anywhere that markedly improves the side, then you do it.
Haha! ****, i didnt actually know he had a scrotal injury... only one i heard of was a guy in the lower leagues? But had I known Dann got his sack damaged.. i would have congratulated you on that one!
"Samba is the best CB in the league, and if we have a sniff of him, we should try." While I think he is a good player, that just isn't true. Both Vincent Kompany and Nemanja Vidic are head and shoulders above Samba. He is on a level with the likes of Cahill and Skrtel at best, which makes him a cracking player but I still feel 8 million is steep. He is not above players like Johnson, Agger, Lescott, or even John Terry. If we hadn't signed Brown and O'Shea then I think he should have been snapped up, but we do not need him. Striker and left back are the priority. Signing too many players on top wages will bring the bad times back to the club. As there is no way we'd shift O'Shea or Brown so soon after signing them, while Bramble has been our best defender this year. Turner's wages aren't half of what Samba would be on.
