Taken from the BBC Gossip Column this morning:-

"Sam Allardyce claims that Blackburn would not be in danger of relegation from the Premier League if he were still in charge. Allardyce was controversially sacked in December and replaced by Steve Kean, but Rovers are currently two points above the relegation zone with 34 points from 31 matches."

Doesn't he say that about every club he's been sacked by?

And isn't every club he's managed always in the same position?

    Some people just never learn.

It's his players struggling, same as it was at Newcastle, funny how it was suddenly his players when we beat Sunderland 5-1.

Question I'd still ask is why on earth Chris Hughton was replaced by Pardew?
Do you think he's doing anything better/different?

No one knows why, u'd have to ask Mike Ashley that one. Pretty much about the same from what I can see.

But Joey and Jose only started performing after he left.

I hate ir when people say we would have stayed up if we kept Big Sam. I agree, we would have stayed up, consistently hoofing the ball into the air and finishing 14/15th every year without any ambition to climb the table.

I still think we'd have gone down a year earlier, we were woeful that season and it was only Keegans genius Martins, Owen and Viduka triple strike force that got us results at the back end of the year.

I wasn't happy with it either, but at least we've improved (slightly) under Pardew

    Chris Hughton - P 16 W 5 D 4 F 24 A 25 Pts 19
    --Alan Pardew - P 15 W 5 D 5 F 24 A 21 Pts 20

Not too bad considering the players we've lost to injury or money.

    Wow, very very similar.

I've got nothing wrong with Pardew myself, am warming to him. Good technician, good bloke, got no problems with him.

Blackburn might have had a point or two extra, but **** they played insufferably bad football. Remember when he brought them to SJP and played six at the back. <doh>

I'd rather have Kean than Allardyce, he plays better football and he's getting decent results. I don't think they'll go down and I think they'll be better off next season for him being there.

    Re: Pardew Vs Hughton
Pardew is more tactically aware, we certainly look tighter at the back. Hughton was a great team builder, there's great spirit in the camp and he built that. I just hope Pardew realises the importance of that when spending that £35m in the summer, judging by the signing of Ireland (which he's hinted at making permanent) I'm worried he doesn't. Tossers like that can't be good for morale.

I dont have a problem with Pardew, but whenever I think of Hughton I just think "why the **** was he sacked?" and there's still no justifying it. We arent doing noticeably better and are using the same tactics.
