I'm actually going for a 1-3 victory in this one. Their best defender and captain will be missing as he got sent off today and I just think our ladtc2 results will give us more belief....plus we have their number!! A few changes for this one I hope..

    Muric

    Tuenzebe
    O'Shea
    Greaves
    Davis

    Cajuste
    Phillips

    Burns
    Szmodics
    Clarke

    Delap

Ditto 2 -1 Town. Belief, new players blending in, no injuries, we are growing in confidence, they now realise that they are in the Prem on merit and their season could start to get very interesting.

Good choice but Capt Morsy will always start. He was well harassed and kept in check today, not his usual commanding self.

The Saints captain regarding Spanish post.

Reading the comments on the Saints match day thread, they seem to be quite pleased he will be missing!
    I think another away point.
    1 - 1.

Will this be the game where a promoted side finally picks up a win in the Premier League. Possibly more likely that Leicester beat a moribund Everton side?

Southampton haven’t looked great, but they’ll be up for this one. I fancy our chances - McKenna had Martin’s number last season as we got the double win against the Saints.

    I think we’ll win 1-0.

Southampton won't roll over as easily in this one, they will be in trouble all season but they'll bring their A game on Saturday. It won't quite be enough and it'll finish 2-0 Town with a header from a set piece and a late goal from Jack Clarke to put a gloss on a tight victory.

With everybody fit, picking a team is going to be tough! Burns, Szmodics, Broadhead, J. Clarke, Hutchinson, Chaplin, Ogbene, Johnson - only three of those can start!

    Stephens our best defender? <laugh>

No idea where you got that from. Most fans are delighted that he's suspended as it means Martin can't pick him.

There's no credible source for that, as far as I can tell.

Can see a very open game, with plenty of goals... think I'll go for a Ln entertaining 3-3 draw.
    Two for hutch, and Szmodics

But Phillips is out. Shame as feel he needs as much game time as he can to get up to speed, only seen glimpses of what he's capable of so far, some poor moments, some good.

Have to say I know I'm a fan but surprised Woolfenden hasn't come back in, he was superb against Fulham and whilst defence held up well against Brighton felt we missed him drawing the press in that match

Presume Phillips is injured. Time for Cajuste to show us what he can do. He has our old pal Downes to handle.

Must say, that is a strong bench. Chappers, Hirst, Oddbins & Clarke to come on. I am excited about this!
