No idea, just thinking out loud. I'm almost certainly miles off. It's probably Jacob taking the piss and it will be a sponsorship deal with Monster the energy drink!
Has anyone recently bought Match tickets from the club? If you buy them online there is a £1.50 per ticket booking fee. I tried to circumvent this by going to the ticket office and buying tickets, using cash. I was informed that there was still a £1.50 booking fee. So is there any way of NOT paying the required booking fee for match tickets, or are the club simply charging everyone £1.50 for any/all tickets? In which case, why bother to separate the 'ticket price' and the 'booking fee', as every ticket will be £1.50 more than the advertised price? It's not a (very) big deal, but it just smacks of pointless bureaucracy/bean counting. Or something.
Goztepe fan hit the goalkeeper because the Altay fans threw flares into the Goztepe crowd apparently. Absolute **** show. There’s photos / video of the flare but it’s quite gory. The goztepe fan was in a very bad way
Question for the older lot on here - anyone remember the lyrics to a “Stubbington” farmer song we used to chant in the 70-80’s? Something about potatoes & “we can drive a tractor, ooh arr, ooh arr! All sang in a strong farmers Hampshire hog accent. Ps. Was going to post on Saints Music thread!
Sounds like it was nicked from Somerset cricket fans: Cassn’t read and cassn’t wroite, That don’t really matter, We comes up from the West Country And we can droive a tractor!
In football it's used to insult fans of countryside teams like Norwich. Some fans use it in a self deprecating way such as Plymouth and probably ourselves back then.
Ah that’s the very wonderful Kevin Carroll, front man of the Mangled Wurzels, who I was sat next to at an Open Mic a couple of of weeks ago!
The Saints appeared to have flown from Hurn this morning in EC-NUP Airbus A320 Volotea (VOE9284) just arriving at Malaga. https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-12-05/spain-training-camp-winter-2022-southampton-squad-list
