Evening all, Long time lurker, first time poster here. Like most saints fans, I'm happy to watch the long list of ex-saints stars warm benches, trip over their own laces, and generally fail miserably at their new 'big clubs'. Every time the camera pans to Lovern and Lallana, huddled together on the bench, living the 'dream', I can't help but smile... However, as is the trend in the modern game, I'm sure all their deals included additional transfer clauses concerning games, goals scored, international appearances etc... Does anyone have any information on what clauses were in the transfer contract? If I knew that Saints were quietly lining their pockets each time Lallana got on the pitch or scored a goal, I might have to put away the voodoo doll....
Regarding Lallana, I've almost got over my desire to see him fail. As he is ex-academy I sort of think that it reflects well on Saints if he does well. Watching Liverpool last night, the game was crying out for him and he duly delivered when he came on. Lovren on the other hand can stick where the sun don't shine
They can both bugger off in equal measure! But returning to the OP - I guess Beefy or DTLW may know. Suspect there's a raft of clauses on Shaw's deal, and perhaps some appearance/international appearance type stuff on Twatbeard's. Would like to think there's a sell on fee with Chambers too. Interestingly when I press the word 'Twatbeard' on my phone (I just did it by mistake) it comes up with 'no replacement found'. See, you don't know everything Apple!
Or maybe it DOES and it's indicating we haven't yet found our replacement for him. Speaking of which. Interesting article about Tadic this morning in the DE. I will put on record that my animosity towards Lallana has subsided. Lovren however, is, and always will be the the subject of intense hatred.
Lovren to me has taken the status of "irrelevant nobody". Twatbeard I still can't stand. Something about his smug face.
I'm with LTL. Lallana is worse in my eyes that Lovren. Lovren is an arrogant shmuck who learnt nothing from his experience in France. Lallana was our badge kissing captain who said he'd spent half of our season dreaming of Anfield. Twat.
Our success has muted my ire somewhat...though it may return if Liverpool have the nerve to jump over us!!!! Lovren has been shown up for what he is, but Lallana seems to have a series of injuries. I think Liverpool are happy with him when he does play...which may suggest the rest of their team needs strengthening. Have little animosity towards Shaw and Chambers (perhaps I'd run out by the time I'd finished spitting feathers at Mauricio, Lovren and Lallana).
He didn't though. He was trying to make himself look good to the Liverpool fans, which of course made him look worse to us. My annoyance with Lallana is that he couldn't see the potential here and how lucky he was to be at the centre of something special. AND, if he could see it, why it wasn't enough for him (assuming that it wasn't all about money). By the way, I haven't noticed too much badge kissing this season from anyone. Maybe because no-one stays around long enough to feel they really belong.
False assumption. It was all about money - in fact you can be reasonably sure that whenever someone behaves badly, they are motivated either by finance or romance.
That doesn't make it better. He took out a £500 advert which was a big picture of himself after doing everything possible to stick the knife into the club and force a move. Afterwards, he showed no class. He could have said the was delighted with the opportunity to move to such an enormous club as Liverpool and I would not have been bothered. There was no need to say he had been dreaming of Liverpool while playing for us. Classless. Tasteless. Stupid. Twatbeard.
