This kind of openness is important for the game and I hope it continues/goes further. I (and many QPR fans) would like to know how much of that went to Mr Joorabchien, for example. It is our money after all. What ever happened to his chum Mr Zahavi? And how the hell did they get away with that Tevez/Masch scam. Maybe that's for another day.

Of course players are entitled to representation and most agents I am sure are completely professional, although some do appear to have a lot of influence. Equally most footballers are fairly normal and don't go around fighting/drinking/cheating, there's just a few that give the rest a bad name.

Might help us rationalise things a bit, might not, but a few random quotes from the Cardiff City Tom Ince thread...

Ince would me a fantastic addition imo, however I am not so sure about that Wanayama character, seems like he may be a bit mercenary and will go to whoever pays the most wages.

i hope not about wanyama, i've seen him a few times in the champions league and i wouldnt pay anywhere near £10m for him.

the wanayams rumour was all over twitter last night as well. I'm not happy about £10m but happy with Ince

There is such an obvious answer to this and several times I thought I should get off my arse and do it. You go to the PFA and set up a company that represents players as a division of said organization (or associated to) and represent all it's members. That way, money "earned" as a commission mostly stays within the game apart from the salaries and admin costs of the team of commercially aware negotiators.

Rumours Wanyama's agents want him to join a Turkish team for tax reasons.

Where's CBK when you need him?

Looking at that table, we've spent just over half as much as the next lowest team on agent fees. CBK - you're a HUGE advocate for not treating the club as a business etc (I'm not having a go by the way, this is just my perception of your standpoint), and a very outspoken critic of the Cortese approach. Now much as it might pain you, would you not support this approach towards the agents? Or do you think NC is handicapping our recruitment by displaying principle?

If he makes that move, at his age, I would have absolutely no respect for him.

I'f I could go somewhere and pay 15% tax, i'd go. If the story is to be believed though, he doesn't want to go to Turkey, he wants to go to the premiership (which is massive in Kenya), but just to a better team than Saints.

He'd be better off going to Dubai or Monaco by that reckoning. Perhaps a small team on the Isle of Man?

I think it could be hampering our transfer progress, but something inside me really likes his stance (if true).

Weird that papers say one thing and bookies seem to be saying another. Well I know the latter is more trustworthy, that's for sure.

    Never fear, I am here.

I think that table is distorted a bit by the fact that Ramirez's agent waived his fee from that transfer. You could have added on £1.5m-£2m alone for that deal.

I hate agents as much as everyone. All the money they take from football is out of the game and directly or indirectly, its our (supporters) money. As far as I know, no agent is reinvesting their gains by either making their clients better footballers or even better people.

Sadly though, they are a necessary evil as all players have them and if you want deals done, you got to use them. Cortese is right to limit any payments as much as possible, but despite agents worshipping money, you do run the risk of them mucking you around in deals.

Probably not, because nobody has yet said talks have ended. Stalled and initial offer rejected only. BBC have just avoided the typical sensationalist negative spin.

I know. I am gradually correcting people on the BBC article. It's taking a while though as I can only post once every 600 seconds. <steam>
