"On the question of the passage of Gaston Ramirez to Southampton which aroused great controversy, Zanzi clarifies: "The Bologna is represented by its managers and simply, there was contact between the two companies but we sent the deal to issues regarding the guarantees, they do not give and we can not take the risk of this practice. There are the numbers for this, of the 20 million offered by Southampton was too high a percentage to agents and 4,992,000 to Penarol. "This is because, says DG:" The Bologna has 100% of the rights of Ramirez but Penarol is a premium of 30% on the second sale of the player. Gaston is important for Bologna and know. "Release output:" Some clubs lower category has probed the ground of Coda, and Paponi Casarini."

So now they are saying they own 100% of him and we have to pay another 30% to Penarol? But Penarol have agreed and say Bologna own 70%.

    What are they playing at?!

Do you think you could link to the source so we can form our own interpretations?

Lots of this is being lost in translation, let's not forget. But it's just games.

Let it play out. It will finalise it's self in the end. It's all agenda driven to benift them in terms of getting the best they can, In many ways they're hoping other clubs come in and offer more up front. I'm sure this is what it's all being leaked for.

Because its on wikipedia it has to be true - eh... okay. How do you know what trouble Bologna has gone to - you have a source in their club? Or its it what you read on the web - the same sources that tell you the deal is off - only you choose not to belive the latter - or am I being subjective?

Sounds like they're struggling financially and have large debts to pay in the short term which is why they're demanding the whole payment within a short time frame.
I think the Tottenham drop out must have been down to the club negotiations saints are struggling with rather than the reported wage demands.
Looks set to be a war of attrition until deadline day.

This whole thing is just stupid now, so many things one after the other that appear to be wrong. Bologna are doing pretty much everything to either keep him or get more money for him, im not sure which.

Seems like they are trying to play Mr Betancourt at his own game. They are now claiming that Napoli are interested.

But I thought Gaston wanted to play in the PL? Then again Napoli offer UCL football.

At least the agent is trying to speed up the process by bullish*tting, he'll be playing in the 2014 World Cup with a £35 million price tag on his head when this is over. Bologna are my least favourite Italian club now, well done sweaty president, well done.

I know these ****ing Italians are taking the piss, surely paying off half of the debt now and waiting for the rest at a later date is better than not paying off anything and keeping an asset worth €15m! #bolognaselogic

    So we're buying 130% of a player?

I blame Andrew Surman, we sold him for £1.2 million and as he was one of our best young players at the time, Bologna will think we are push overs. I've cracked it.
