Totally agree. He had some shocking spells during the game yesterday and over the last couple of months. He is the weakest link in our team at the moment.

He was one of the better player yesterday and in our past few games, and stepped up nicely to the RB role.

Ramsey is a very useful squad player at the very least. He even did a job at RB yesterday. Wenger has given him a new long term contract, so he is going to be part of our squad for the forseeable future.

That AW has given him a new contract does not make him a good player as AW is as capable of errors of judgment as the next man.

If Gordon Gump were a striker and missed more times than he scored, that would be more acceptable. As a MF though, we can't afford the luxury of waiting for him to come good. A couple of half decent performances do not makeup for the negatives, especially as there are far more.

Not really a big issue for me. Ramsey is just a good squad player that comes in and does a job. When starting he is hit and miss, but as a sub he has been excellent, especially when we are winning. He works hard and that's his role. If we want better squad players than we must invest actual money, and that drags into a wider debate about the ambition of our club. Ramsey - squad player for a club that competes for the things we currently compete for. If AW and co are ready to raise the level of our squad then Ramsey would probably have to leave to get any game time, but AW has instead given him a new long term contract. Says it all, really.

Seems to me that pro-Ramsey lobby on here are happy for him to just plod along doing the simpel things, and dismiss the "odd" (but as we saw yesterday alomost costly) mistakes as minor blips. I detect a great deal of sentiment in this view, him having been prised from SAF's reach when we signed him, and of course in view of the injury he suffered.

The anti-Ramsey lobby expect him, indeed all Arsenal players, to be quality players who do more than just the simple things, and are not prone to making 1, 2, or 3 costly mistakes per game. This crew also feel that he has had ample chances over the last 18 months to bed in and show his quality.

I'm not convinced that in the areas in which he needs to improve, he can.

    Sagna has alway been underrated.

Ramsey also deserves some credit though. Thought he was excellent at fullback.
