Those studs aren't raised enough to be a red - it's almost a standard block tackle.

The direction the ball pops out says that's no red card.

its a yellow card at best IMO

and even then i'd feel he was a little bit hard done by .

the playacting afterwards should get a yellow .

the ref was in an ideal position, even I could see that sagbo never touched his head.
but then again the ref was behind the play.

You are not wrong there but don't forget he has staff who are conversant with what is going on in the transfer market, who have 'contacts' in the game and scouts who are (or should be) ever alert for appropriate players.
A blind man can see that we are in desperate need of a quality striker (or two) but, knowing that we received 12 million quid for Long (what a magnificent piece of trading that was) everyone 'ups' the price for the players who are available. 15 million (so some quoted) for Rhodes was obscene. Some reports (mostly word of mouth from Italian sources) say that Hernandez should be valued at 6 million tops as he, like Rhodes, made his name in the second tier NOT Serie A. Again, like Altidore, Sagbo and Proschwitz, we will have to give him some time to settle in and show us what he can do and let us hope that whereas Altidore, Sabgo and Proschwitz showed us they could do hardly anything that this bloke can show us some quality. We are also still getting over the stigma of "Hull Who"? but we are getting there and appear to be making an impression on suitable players who are not so reluctant to dismiss us to the 'not interested' basket.

I was in the West stand and from where I was sat it look a strong fair challenge. SB said after the game that in the EPL that would not even have been a yellow, but in Europe from what I have seen it make the ref's in the EPL look excellent.

I thought it was nowt at the time, but seeing it on Look North later it looked worse.

He gave it for his foot going over the ball, studs first. Potential leg breaker.

However, everything else the ref got wrong, and just ruined the game.

I'm not sure why you keep sticking Altidore and Proschwitz on that list, you were not alone in thinking those two weren't up to it, in fact, with Proschwitz he was pretty much universally written off after just a handful of games.

I didn't think it was even a free kick at the time and even after seeing it on Look North, that ref was as bent as a ten bob note imo. Their number 13 (who was 'fouled') didn't need the stretcher that came on an was running about as happy as Larry a few moments later. The amount of blatant diving and head clutching for absolutely nothing was a total disgrace and if that is what European football is all about then i am glad we are out of it. I moan about all the cheating in the PL but this lot were on another level entirely.

Overall i thought we were p*ss poor and deserved to go out but that ref was an absolute disgrace

It was definitely a soft red, but then that shouldn't be a surprise, the ref thought every tackle was a foul.

Because I was the first 'lone voice' in criticising them. Most kept telling me that 'they needed time' 'he's only 19' etc.,etc.,. I might not be an authority but I can tell thoroughbred racehorses from Donkey's. I followed Jozy's career and he did nothing at Bursaspor but came good in the Eredivisie but I watched a lot of his games through different streams and he had an excellent midfield behind him who supplied him well. Wilfreid Bony outscored him however and has settled better in the EPL than Jozy has at Sunlun where he has done nothing.

Watching live from south stand i thought it was a sending off, looked to me like he went in stoods showing and caught the player, having seen it on TV looked a bit harsh,

Didn't think their diving was that bad, we were naive and kept giving away stupid fouls, they were very good at seeing the game through, ultimately we weren't good enough even with 11 men,

Yellow card at most; ref couldn't wait to give it.

Who is ever saying straight red I doubt youve ever played the game. He went for the ball, won it and as the lokeren player missed it sagbos foot went down on the foot that missed the ball. Its not even a foul let alone a card of any colour. Shocking

Oh I agree, he will and should be given time, for this money that's obvious. If it doesn't work out I don't know what we could get in January.

One of the frustrations of not reaching the league stages of this competition is that it would have put the club a little more on the map. That has been lost.

Looked like a 50/50 to me...But its Europe...You would think Sagbo would know it.....A combination of over aggression, the fact that the player went down like a sack of spuds and an idiot ref = red

    A JOKE.

Was not even a foul. But Uefa dont want any contact in football so it happens sadly for Sagbo.

Spot on John. ^^^^ this. Sadly for the fans Uefa and Platini now have there wish. European football played like basketball. (no contact).
