This is an example of a safe standing area. There is no increase in capacity and fans are allocated "seats" or "spaces" please log in to view this image
But Mito's correct, it's not the original seat that's an option. The rail seat is exactly that a combination of a rail/barrier and a seat, the original seats would be ripped out.
I know this. The point is that the seats are bolted up and then allowed to flop down on european nights. they are ****ing rock hard. guess what I would do. 2 or 3 tie wraps, into ground take out and tie seat up for the match. I wouldn't sit on that seat. it is horrid. if you put this in its a fudge and a permenant standing area.
the new seats seem to be hard metal. If i were charged full price for that i would complain.. but thats just me. I would bring tie wraps as unles regualr seats you don't flip up they stay down. I would tie it up safe and then snip ties and take away after. cost me what 10p?
And a fine for vandalising private property. Nah, the seats have a key, similar to the ones that used to open outside electric boxes, so unless you've got one of them you're ****ed.
Not if you use reusable tie wraps so you can remove them before you leave. Wouldn't need to buy more next time then either Of course, you could tho the other way and take a cushion
Tie wraps is vandalising? The seats have a key that is used pregame by stadium staff to lower each seat. think about it.... seat is lowered.... but its not locked as in a 700mm space the seat plus fan is going to take up that space making access and egress impossible unless seats can flip up. So unlike a bucket seat that flips up by default theys are down by default and can be flipped up only to get in and out. this is my understanding at least
You are allocated a place to stand, but there is an increase in capacity. For example just compare the attendance for Dortmund in their league compared to European games. 81,360 in Bundesliga 65,829 in Champions League
If theres enough room on the row yes. Celtic had a pitch of 700mm so they stuck with 1:1 If you have 800mm then you can get 1.8:1 My foot is 330mm long.... So apply this to celtic. I'm a size 10 shoe. if i were in celtic and i was standing with another guy behind me of similar foot size we would have our feet wedged together or intertwined as there is a rail seat taking up all the remaining 40mm slack. NOW apply this to Anfield where the pitch is even less. We'd have to be arse to cock in there my view is we would have to completely redo the kop end rows take a look at this pic here (germany) please log in to view this image Note that within every row there are TWO levels. The seat lowers and covers this higher inner step when in seat mode.
Just as a point... This is all a fudge. The only difference between now and safe standing is that everyone stands and theres nothing to stop them falling over or some idiot falling onto them. We "frown" on standing so we don't admit this risk exists. The standing system provides a rail that improves safety HOWEVER this must be said. each seat is a unique number. I beliee that in Germany the ROW is allocated to a person but not a spot in the row therefore security becomes a concern to identify someone tossing stuff onto pitch.
celtics pitch is 330mm? as in 13 inches? edit sorry you are talking about pitch as in football pitch. got me. I means the width of a single row = pitch of the row.
No, you said their pitch was 700mm and your foot was 330mm, but what's 20 millimetres in the big picture.
100,000 signatures gets it on the agenda but I don't think the government will allow it. All seater was introduced for a reason and it has proved successful in keeping fans safe. Why would they go back on that decision? The government aren't interested in what makes a better atmosphere.
I assumed those 20mm would be used up by the footing of the rail system at the back of the row and the seat itself.
