I thought the appointment of AVB was wrong - I cannot understand why Levy thought he would understand the Premiership especially after his experience with the Chavs - to our cost we know that not all foreign managers are Gods.

However we have him and unless he turns into a complete disaster - remember 8 games 2 points ? - we need to let him prove himself.

It looks like a painful season ahead though

Booing the team 2 or 3 games into a new managers tenure when 3 of our most influential players have left makes them daft bastards. Utterly, utterly imbecilic

So if you walked into work on Monday morning and your boss greated you with 'not ****ing you again, this place would be a lot better without you' you would perform at your best would you? That's what it must be like for the players getting booed.

    Wholly agree.

The thing is I along with most Chelsea fans I know wanted AVB to succeed possibly more than any other manager during my time as a Chelsea fan. I know of people that had been going since the 60s/70s and never once called for the head of any Chelsea manager until AVB.

As for the booing, I'm firmly against the booing of individual players but collectively paying fans have the right to boo. It doesn't make them any less of a fan. The fact is many fans are disenfranchised altogether with football, that is partly due to the FA, UEFA, Sky, Ticket Prices and the commercialisation of it. Football is a business now not a sport, it simply can't be both which is why the booing IMO is acceptable depending on circumstance.

As for the choice of manager, I am still amazed Moyes was overlooked. I was fearful Spurs could become a major force under his stewardship. I'm absolutely convinced he will go on to be Man Utd or Arsenal manager one day. Laurent Blanc is an excellent manager as well as is Rodgers. With good backing they would all have been perfect fit for Spurs.

Spurs or sex....your last line is way off...you might judge AVB on his Chelsea tenure..most of us know..he lost to player power...etc etc......why all the bile based on his former job,a job that Ancelotti lost in his double season etc etc...this is so bloody tedious now and the fact that DL agrees with you says it all..frabkly couldnt give a fuk what chelsea fans think and when it comes to AVB dont need their lop sided view.....

3 ****ING GAMES...IM GOING TO LAUGH OR ID CRY

The reason the fans booed imo is that what was predicted by everybody is coming true straight away. We've been pushing the top places for a while now and this is difficult to take at the moment so I understand but don't condone the booing.

AVB had instant success in Portugal in his first season with Oporto and is expected to do it again and maybe even he expects to do it. We've gone for him too quickly judging him on his double and so too did Chelsea.

I'm hoping for a 1-2 scoreline against Reading.

AVB must be gutted at missing out on Modric - twice. Also as mentioned, VDV had spoken before about wanting to return to Germany. So I don't think that AVB should take any blame for these players leaving.

I think you have to give your new manager time.

If I remember correctly he started off well for Chelsea and then fell back. This time he's started off not so well and it might turn around later. I still have a glimmer of hope,a spark of life that it still might come good but it has to happen quickly. Well I've vilified AVB enough,I think we should all stick together as Spurs fans,TOTALLY ignore the wums and forget yesterday and move on.

Now our next opponents are Reading and are not to be taken lightly,no team is in our present position. I think AVB is right that a win will boost confidence and it doesn't matter against whom that win comes. Let it please be Reading 1 Tottenham Hotspur 2. Get Ade and Dempsey on with Dembele and if necessary park the bus if we take the lead. Just break this conceding a late goal habit and we will be ok.

Er we don't have average players, we have a squad full of above average players and in Bale (and soon Lloris) we have world clas players

why are they not performing - ask AVB and Levy
