The FA is being run by brainless idiots. I do not like John Terry but he is entitled to due process just like anyone else! He hasn't been proven guilty and so he should remain as England Captain if that is Capello's wish. The FA have no business in removing him as captain and undermining the incumbant manager like they have. They are just pandering to the populist gallery.

i dunno, an england captain should have a responsibility to keep away from controversy. That's something Terry doesn't have.

He clearly admitted he did say those words, and whatever the context he was an unthinking idiot to say them.

Like the great man Julius Caesar said the england captain 'must be above suspicion.'

I agree terry should have been dropped as it was just going to become more of a distraction. I actually think its highly selfish of John terry to either not step down himself or request the trial be brought forward before the euros.

Terry is a great footballer, but a poor excuse of a human being. Think of the extra money he gets for being England captain with endorsements and such. That's why he didn't step down. Nothing as noble as "wanting to clear his name"

Cappello has ****ed things right up with stirring it up again and surely the FA should have sat down WITH postman pat and agreed what to do and how it was all going to happen, not go it alone. What did they expect from Capello? That he'd be happy his authority has been undermined.

As usual it's all complete England bollocks, more drama before a tournament that will probably be as underwhelming as the previous one because of all this.

Stuck, I believe is the word.

TBH who really cares..? Its only the England team afterall and we all know that they will shoot themselves in the foot like always during the Euros. We go through the same old **** before and during every tournament. I'm just bored of all this bollocks!

Completely agree the England manager should be English but the only candidate I can see being anywhere near appointable is Alan Pardew

Can't believe I'm saying that as I don't like the guy but what he's done at Newcastle has been a near miracle. He's shown good tactical awareness, plays good football (with crap players at times), handles pressure well and is good with media.

Although he's not got the pedigree of Redknapp I think he'd do a better job.

If not him I'd go for Pearce but I still feel he has a bit to learn

Me too. I think we'd do better if we picked a team of Championship players rather than the Premiership knobeds.

People like Terry, Lampard, Ferdinand just don't put in the effort when we play some of the smaller nations. Playing for your country at an international tournament should be enough on it's own to raise your game, you shouldn't need to be playing a top nation.

Completely disagree. This is just another mess that the FA have made and now they might try to use it as an excuse to remove Capello. If you are a manager you are seriously undermined if decisions are made without your input. However, if the FA try and terminate Capello's contract now we will have a bigger mess in the summer and more poor preparation for the Euros.

    <ok>

    Agree with that totally!

Why bother having a manager when the FA seems to make all the key decisions.

Capello has already said he's leaving after the Euros anyway. Do you really think the FA are going to sack him now, when they'll have to pay him off AND fund the search for / employment of a new manager? Because I don't.

If he is in breach of his contract that may mean he can have it terminated without a pay out, but I think the timing would be ridiculous.

Can you imagine this kind of fuss in Spain or Argentina with Aragones or Maradona despite the things they are known to have said and done. We lambast Terry (not saying he is great) but then you look at the likes of Marlon King and Lee Hughes who are still being given a lot of leeway.

I must say I'm shocked at how the FA has reacted about the whole entire incident Suarez was left to dry by them based on another players testimony, there is video evidence of Terry using racist language yet he hasn't faced a hearing yet and has been eligible to play three months after the incident. I'm not a scouser but the FA have double standards if you ask me.

......the f.a. are unable to punish terry for racism as he has been charged by the cps so this is all that they are able to do. the only thing that matters to terry appears to be money, totally cash oriented. lampard is exactly the same. i would be very happy if both were never picked for england again, we don't need them.

I agree we need to get rid of dead wood like Terry and Lampard who with the exception of scoring the odd goal just jogs slowly around midfield aimlessly, saw a potential England team on sky earlier Hart, Walker, Jones, Smalling, Cole, Parker, Gerrard, Wilshire, Young, Oxlade - Chamberlain and Rooney, those two jokers wouldn't even get in the squad.
