Am I out of step with everyone else?
I cannot understand why he is not being given any time on the pitch. He is not being given any chance top prove himself and for any young player that has to be very depressing.
Surely he must be on the bench at least against Nuneaton. Even if DC doesn't rate him and we are well ahead, he could then at least give him a chance. On the occasions I saw him play, I thought he was a better prospect than Matty.
Also, unless he is on the pitch, how is DC going to be able to move him on if he doesn't want him.
IMO this shows a serious lack of man management skills by DC.

We dont know what is going on behind closed doors.

Cant really say lack of man management skills by DC if Brunt is not putting in effort in training! Im not saying that is the case but it could be the case. Would you reward a player a position in the starting 11 if he made no effort in training???? I wouldnt. I would say fair shout to DC. But none of us know what is going on.

Someone recently asked Brunt on twitter why he isnt playing and he replied saying he was not injured and is fit and ready. So its not an injury issue.

If Cunnington & Taylor is DC's preferred pairing, we are only allowed 5 subs. Really 2 strikers would be the max on the bench to allow a keeper, defender and midfielder to be on the bench. At the moment Harrison and White is the strikers on the bench. You cant really drop Harrison as he has become a super sub. White apparently still isnt match fit. So do you leave White on the bench to get some game time to improve his fitness or drop him completely for Brunt to be on the bench meaning White struggles with fitness? Its a difficult one. With 7 games in this month of September, I would guess that everyone will get some game time and a chance <ok>

I guess DC is under pressure to get results and Brunt hasn't exactly been banging them in. By the end of the season I expect Brunt will be fit, sharp and making an impact. But let's face it, until the last couple of results things were getting hot for DC. It's a decent squad and it's great having someone like Brunt trying to force their way into contention. It can only be a good thing...
