I find it hard to believe, I don't think RVP would be negotiating with Manchester City during the season. I still believe he will stay at Arsenal, as long as we get champions league football. Maybe Im just being blind, being an Arsenal fan. That is a lot of money though and Im sure many people would find that hard to turn down if it is true.
Anything is possible and the times are usually accurate - but it depends whether it is an actual article or just a snippet in a rumors section. I am not sure whether he will leave or not but I don't think he will go to another UK club realistically Real or Barca or maybe Milan - But I believe if we get champions league football and buy 3-4 big players (while getting rid of 5-6 rot) then there is a good chance he will stay.
i don't think wenger would let RVP negotiate with man city, and if they have, we can get them on tapping up without our permission. so its obviously false.
Nah - this is a load of bull crap. If he doesn't want to discuss his Arsenal contract to focus on the job in hand he won't be discussing a contract with City and there certainly wouldn't be anything coming out in the press before the end of the season as he has too much respect for Wenger and the club allegedly. So you can only put this down as gossip
Would you guys not match it? Or is it another case of a player gets brilliant, Wenger doesn't pay, and they leave when you should be getting your rewards out of them?
If it is true - matching 210k a week is near on impossible unless you're owned by some rich twats that know **** all about football
Wanting to pay or not has nothing to do with it. While I don't believe this for a minute, who could match £210k a week other than the usual suspects, especially bearing in mind the unrest it would cause in the rest of the squad?
Okay. So what you're saying is your cannot, rather than do not want to pay those wages? Fair point in regards to the rest of the squad. You're right its probably bollocks anyway - but how long has he got left on his contract?
arsenal aren't full of money. maybe if they altered their wage structure and offloaded a bunch of players they could match it, but as said, it would cause unrest within the squad. how do you think someone like richards at man city feels when some of his peers are getting paid +210k £ per week, and he's on something like 60k. it just isn't feasible.
Of course we could match it. But it would have to be a 1 off and that would make buying anyone else good impossible because they will demand wages similar to rvp. We would never of been able to make arteta take a wage cut from everton if rvp had been on 210k a week. But of course we could match it. Our income on match days is ridiculous. And we know our sponsorship is going to explode in 2/3 years time. Income wise we are the 5th biggest in the world.
Sounds very unlikely. Maybe City will move for him in the summer, maybe they won't. Taking a stab in the dark now will sell papers and everyone will have forgotten about it by the 1st September if they're wrong/bullshitting.
AW would never sell any of our players to Man Citeh would he? Oh wait i forgot, Nasri, Clichy, Adebayor, Toure
How can you say that. Citeh have the financial pull to practically bring any player in the world. The only thing stopping them is the player's loyalty, for example Messi would never leave Barcelona. If Van Persie leaves Arsenal then it will be to Man City I reckon
