Hmmmm. This puts me in a total quandary. I've never liked Russell Brand, but I like what he's done there.

Russell the entertainer is annoying and sometimes funny but mostly annoying. Obviously he's not the worst on a personal level. Fair play to him.

    Great gesture <ok>

Brand is a decent guy in my book(apart from that crap he pulled with J.Ross a few years back)

I don't like Brand's stage persona at all. I've never liked people that shout at you all the time.
Neither was I as impressed by his Paxo interview as many seemed to be, but I have seen other instances of him being more thoughtful and insightful and I'm sure there's a decent bloke in there.
I think he's one of those rare "celebrities" where the substance is better than the style.
Well done to him for donating it to the campaign, but also well done to him for pursuing the case and showing that the rags can't always get away with writing any old unsubstantiated **** they like.
If they're going to defame people, they should make bloody well sure they've got their facts right.

Good gesture. Shows that a celebrity can be completely different in reality to the image they portray.

Suppose you could also say that about Saville,Hall, etc..but you know what I mean.

If they had their facts right, would that then be defamation?

Brand is a decent enough guy, he just sometimes gets a bit carried away. (ie the Jonathan Ross bit).
But he in real life, from what I have seen of him, he seems to be a pretty decent bloke. Paying into the Hillsborough charity with money won from the Sun is pretty funny.

Plus the dudes banged Kate Moss, Kate Lawler, Sadie Frost, Georgina Bailie, Imogen Thomas, Geri Halliwell, Rhian Sugden, Theresa Palmer, Holly Madison, Katy Perry and Isabella Brewster (and for some reason Courtney Love eeeeeww).
Gotta give a fella props for that, and they are just the ones WE know about! :)

I don't try and wriggle and twist things when I'm wrong. I'm not Tobes. :)

Did they go for the Victorian Extravaganza?
I avoided the place until Monday night's game. I was expecting the pub to be relatively quiet, but I'd forgotten about the VE.
I walked in and the place stank of stale beer and even staler sweat and was full of manky pissheads.

Not like him to miss an opening like that <laugh>

They knew the Victorian thing was on, but it was all about drinking - no shock there. "Manky pissheads" sounds very Cheeseesque, but it was only a Sunday trip.

Gave him an open goal, no doubt he'll come and blast it over the bar in a bit.

The aforementioned pissheads were locals I knew anyway, but in a more advanced state of disrepair than normal.

He'll be cheering on West Ham as they beat City on Sunday to.

Same. I used to hate the **** when he was first about. Really despised him. Now I actually like him. Not a big fan of his stand up. But I like him in his films and during interviews.
