Give it a rest Belfast. Under tricky cricumstances he kept us up. Who would have predicted those 5 home wins on the bounce? We should've at least drawn with city too, the players were distracted by the benches reaction to the Bolton result. He had to cope with Cisse being banned for 8 games or whatever it was, and joey probably lost us 4/6 points with his sendings off Vs city/norwich. Not to mention the dodgy reffing..
I don't rate him, sorry, but that's the way it is. Not in the bottom three. September's games are the crucial ones. I really can't see the Board letting it go for too long. If he gets his act together, fine, but...........today's display was truly shocking, at times.
Dragon, what's this 'Jack' thing with Swansea? Half my wife's family are from Ystradgynlais ( the other half from Treherbert), but they can't make up their minds, either something to do with a poisoned dog or a tin lunchbox. Then again I take care to be three quarters pissed every time we meet up, so may have misunderstood..... Shame you watched on TV - there were plenty of free seats in the away supporters end.
Mate, how wrong were you to doubt your team earlier in the week! Have not read other posts yet but suspect ui have been sensible so well done for that.
Well it is probably a combination of two things, but I think it's more the truth that Swansea was a large shipping port through the centuries, and Swansea Sailors commanded respect for their skills, and would always be hired, they were known as 'Jacks' and I think it's where we got our nickname from, as the 'Old Vetch field was close to the old docks too. There are those that think it was linked to the famous life saving dog called 'Jack', that saved many from drowning in the docks! In the back of my mind somewhere, I think it's the first though.............
Well I'm not infallible, and I based it on our two friendlies against, Blackpool, and particularly Stuttgart, who dismantled us first half, and we were fortunate to get a draw game from second half, maybe also knowing the results between us favoured you, and losing Joe Allen last week, I'm sure you can see where I was coming from! going to be a cracker between you and the Canaries next week though!..............
