I hope the board say 'don't be stupid', and here is some money to spend in January even if it is on loan players wages that can keep us up.

I could understand the don't be stupid bit but the money will never come forth. Every day that passes makes us less likely to succeed and the ante goes up with each transfer window when ridiculous money comes in to play.

I think someone said previously that re the transfer fiasco, he had twice previously offered his resignation, so let's hope its third time unlucky. The buck must stop with the board. He worked wonders last year (we were not that good in some matches) but this year he has been forced to work with what he has got. The lack of the much needed new players is the board's fault not SC

We have to face some hard truths here - we don't have the gates to compete with most of the teams in this league

That's why SL has built the stadium, as nowadays you cant simply write cheques

Having listened to the interview yesterday, it wouldn't surprise me as he sounded pretty angry and depressed at the same time. He might feel that way because he thinks that we fickle supporters are getting at him however the truth is that the vast majority of us WANT HIM TO SUCCEED but things are clearly not working at the moment.

On the other hand, he may just have had enough of a perceived lack of financial backing from the board however see my further comment under re that...

Well obviously not this season or last but SL knew that and bankrolling any shortfall in the interim was clearly in the plan, probably where most of the transfer budget went.

I am not sure I agree though with because if it looked like we were competing to get out of this division (the right way), I would think 20,000+ would be achieved and of course, if we were able to get there, it would undoubtedly be a season ticket sell-out...

In the meantime, it is a case of catch 22 as you can't have a self sustaining stadium without spending the money on it in the first place...

IF IF - he offered his resignation, SL should have accepted.
A weak person offers a resignation.
A strong person resigns - end of.

Whether people want him to stay or to be sacked, the reality is that with every passing game the pressure on SC increases, unless the owner/board have already told him that his job is safe no matter what happens.

Not sure Keith Dawe who is a buddy of SC and instrumental in his appointment has some hard thinking to do.Three wins in twenty is sacking form.
Club comes before friendships Mr Dawe.

But I was never happy that the friendship between them seemed to make SC the only person for the job, when it was never formally advertised.

No one can take away what he or the team achieved last season, but unfortunately that's now consigned to history.

Steve Clarke wittingly or unwittingly SPOKE TO FULHAM this could be "look I am very happy here and we need to get down to it, they offered more but Reading is my job" or " you lot are crap I want something better, but Fulham are not it, "
SC, well if he did offer to resign then he is admitting he is not capable of doing the job and has reached the peak of his ability in this division .. .. .. must say his body language is a bit negative, and trying to find some of his preseason comments, sure there was one where he said don't want to rush into buying as invariably early its wrong players at the inflated prices or similar jist.. missed out altogether other than KODGER!
