Now that the thug John Terry has thrown his toys out of his pram and won't play for Engeerland anymore, Roy has replaced him with another thug in Ryan Shawcross.
Good plan Roy or did Pulis threaten to send the boys round to head butt you or break your leg? You do know that the bloke can't look down....don't you?

Still think Rio Ferdinand's treatment has been disgraceful. Regarding Shawcross coming in, I actually think he's alright, but just shows the **** quality we have at the moment. Shawcross or a player to his calibre wouldn't get close to an England squad 90's or 2000 - 2006. I don't think anyway. 2004 and 2006 squads were strong but I think they were better than our current squads.

Rio was well overdue to be dumped in my opinion, its clear he struggles to keep up in the premiership so christ knows how he would cope in an international, and who the hell does he think he is to think that he is an automatic pick.

Shawcross is a good defender, i would have liked to seen chaulker in there.

i'd rather have seen caulker too but to be fair, shawcross has had a very good start to the season. he's a good defender, does the simple things well and alongside a more talented centre half could be useful to england. we often moan that our players don't get a look in because they play for an unfashionable club yet the moment one does get in from stoke, we don't like it?! ferdinand is finished as far as i'm concerned and i think this has been a while in coming. good on hodgson for bringing shawcross in. not keen on the way he handled things on the tube; should have phoned him or whatever, but hey ho!

I think Shawcross deserves his chance, obviously everyone refers to the Ramsey incident but he a better player that people give him credit for. As for being a thug you can't begin to compare him to Terry - A lying, rascist bigot on the pitch (has everyone forgotten about him kneeing a Barcelona player in the back and denying it last season) an even bigger tosser off it - Assault & affray in 2002, Sent off against Tottenham in November 2006 at White Hart Lane, and accused of racially abusing Ledley King etc etc.
