What an awful weekend. First Villa take the lead, Ramires goes off Terry should have been off and I'm thinking Chelsea will drop points. Then Benteke decides to be an idiot. Same thing happens on Sunday when Stoke take the lead and then Adam decideds to be stupid. I have a feeling whoever is up there does not want us to in the Champions league, or someone at WHL shagged a witch. Looking forward to tomorrow. All or nothing.
Let's be honest guys, on the 3rd of March after that spurs game, you were told that with 2 games to go we would be 2 points behind spurs with a game in hand, and that game in hand was against Wigan at home, we would all have gladly taken it.
Wenger is 100% right when he says - do not look at others, just keep your head down and do what you need to do. And we will be there.
We have had 10 days rest and Wigan are coming off a huge game on a energy-sapping Wembly pitch. They might not crash badly, but they are going to find it hard going after that high. Then we have Newcastle, with even their manager already on the golf course. I'm afraid for once I agree with some of our more pessimistic fans. If we cant beat them, we don't deserve to be in the CL.
there are LOADS of perfectly good reasons why we should trounce Wigan, the F A cup , our 10 day rest etc...... just as there were loads of reasons for us to trounce Bradford and Blackburn . im afraid logic dont come in to it. if there is one thing Arsenal ARE ..its inconsistent. which is why people are justifiably " concerned " about these games.
Actually we've been pretty good at grinding out tough results this season. Sine we sorted ourselves out defensively, sure we have had some tough games where we haven't scored many goals but we have got the results we needed while playing badly. Let's play well tomorrow, and see what happens. We've been through some tough times but we will get through this.
I don't know. That has to change sometime. If we ever expect to win again ever, we can't just be the same as we have been prior to this run.
mmm , i havent seen that yet . Just a couple of weeks ago our defender made a ridiculously lazy pass to van persie , then chased him and crunched him in the box to give a pen and cost us 2 points which would be VERY handy right now. 2 weeks ago . we have certainly improved since giving away goals 15 seconds after taking a corner . but ..sorted ?
do you know what inconsistent means ? You must realise that it only takes ONE mistake to **** us up royally. Thats what im saying . We should beat Wigan for sure . But i wont put my shirt on it...until we show we can score goals easily . We could afford a mistake or two if we can still get some goals , but we seem to finding that hard lately. If we still had the goal machine it would be a foregone conclusion IMHO
Individual errors in defence cost us in that game for sure. But as a unit we have been great. It's the concentration and focus that need sorting out. I'm reasonably confident we can resist Wigan to the odd goal, if any at all. If we score first they are going to find it tough.
It's in our hands. There's no point watching other results. If we fail to qualify for the CL, we have no-one to blame but OURSELVES. It's as simple as that. A great team shouldn't have to rely on the failure of others to succeed. If we're good enough, we'll get CL football. If not, then hopefully there will be a serious review of where we're going as a club.
We have seen some howlers from the so-called top defenders this year as well. Even Kompany has been uncharacteristically lax.
