Wenger has said that Rosicky will extend his contract at Arsenal. 'Tomas Rosicky will stay, we have an agreement with him and it will come out soon'

He also praised Rosicky for his ability to act as an 'accelerator' in games and I think this is a great move signing him up for another contract. He may be 33 but he plays with the energy of somebody ten years younger. His contribution to the team is really important and as well as an attacking force Rosicky is a great little tackler and works hard defensively.

Not sure how long the contract is, but I'd hope we'd give him another couple of years.

Probably a one year contract seeing as he is 33, but you never know. If Wenger likes him enough it could definitely be 2, but no more than that.

I think from next season his main contribution will be as an example and teacher to the younger players, but he's still useful in games.

He's a great squad player, the kind of player that you need to win a title.

What do you mean by "still useful"? The guy is one of the best players in the squad. And he is the one who speeds up the game , not the younger players. Some fans just can not think beyond a player's age.

He is the kind of a squad player who Wenger prefers when they play top opponents. Interesting, isn't it?

Yep Rosicky thoroughly deserves a new contract. He's versatile, tenacious and loyal.

    Awesome little player.

    Rosicky!!!! Nuff Said!

If he really is asking for a 3-4 year contract at 100k pw then there is no chance in hell of wenger signing him. Apparently we are offering 2 years at 60-65k pw (basically his current salary). I think 2-3 at 80 odd will get a deal done. Any more would be too much. Problem we have is the likes of PSG and both Manchester clubs are linked and they will give him those wages.

I saw that £100k gossip snippet too which I found encouraging that there's still a dialogue going on. Like you I think somewhere in between and you'll get the deal done.

Only thing I'd say is that even though I think he's asking a bit too much if you have to replace him you'll end up paying far more and there won't even be a guarantee the replacement will do as well, no matter who he is. I'd like us to err on the side of caution and offer 85-90. Ideally I'd like us to keep our current back line unchanged.

Yeah not many who have that much experience and can play both Rb and Cb. If we went and got a truly class replacement then I would be ok letting him go but cant think of many out there. We need him to stay for a year or 2 while we find a proper replacement as I don't think Jenkinson will make that step up.

I'd be ok with switching any of our line-up for a truly class replacement :)
