For me, it warranted a yellow card at least but i won't argue with the decision, what did he was wrong and was suppose to set an example being captain.
It was a definite red. As a player, I am glad we have him, his goal today was quality, he offers that and along with his vision and passing at times, often wins us games. He needs talent around him to bring the best out in him though. Sadly, he has not lived up to his potential or developed into the player he should have been. But he has enough quality to be considered for our starting 11. As for being captain, he does not have the persona or mentality to be the captain. He hasn't been moulded to be one either. You can tell because his answer to everything is shouting at ppl AFTER the event. In his mind that's what captains do, which is very naive.
sorry Matth, it was a blatant red card. The Song was correctly called yellow, and the offside goal was called correct too. So all in all, the officials got it right. Rooney was rash, and not what you should expect from the club captain. Maybe 3 matches out might get his head right. Plus point is we got the 3 points, an "ugly" win, but better that than a pretty loss
The two goals Van Persie has scored this season has been assisted by Falcao so they seem to have hit it off straight away and as gutted as I am that Rooney is suspended for the next three games, at least I am looking forward to seeing how Mata connects with RVP and Falcao because as the captain, Rooney always plays and nobody knows if there is a better combination out there. I am especially looking forward to the games against Everton and Chelsea
Rooney red sending off was definitely the correct decision. It wasn't a horror tackle in the sense t could have ended the other players career like a 2 footed lunce but it was a definite sending off. To e honest, I'm not overly concerned since we still have Falcao and Van Persie up front, Di Maria in midfield and we can just bring Januzaj or Mata into the starting 11 in Rooneys place. I still rate Rooney though, but I rate him highest as a striker not a number 10, Mata slotting in does no harm to the team IMO. Nice to see a game not ruined by the officials this week. I have to admit I was nervous when Rooney got sent off but we coped well. Hopefully that will give our defenders a bit of confidence going forward. I'd stick with Shaw at left back for now, see if he can be consistent, Rojo had a good game at CB but will it be a case of good game bad game with him, we'll have to wait and see.
