We’re not signing either, nor anyone else I’d imagine. And Charnley will remain absent, Ashley will not care and off we go into the championship again. I’d bet my house on Pardew being in charge next August when we take on Wigan.
Personally I'd rather have Welbeck as he'd suit Rafa's style - works hard, pace and would be a genuine goal threat. He'd love to run on to Shelvey's through balls too! I'm a fan of Rondon too though tbh. He's limited but he's perfect for Rafa's style and would be great at bringing the likes of Kenedy, Perez and Ritchie into the game. In a team like ours, I'd back him to get 15 goals across a season. I'd be content with Rondon, Gayle and Perez and delighted if we brought in the Japanese striker (even if it meant losing Gayle).
