When we sign players like Nelson, we will be in exactly the same position next season as well. Id much prefer Caulker to Nelson or are you saying its better to sign Nelson? Loans and 30+ players are short term fixes but loans offer better players, less injuries and lower wages.
Roberto Di Matteo has indicated that Daniel Sturridge will have a role to play at Chelsea this season. But the Stamford Bridge boss may still bring in another forward player before the close of the transfer window with Romelu Lukaku set to leave the club on loan. Remeber how good Sturridge was at bolton? could be a good signing....
Id hate to have that diving prick play for us. We also have enough players that can play the 2nd striker. Without wanting to sound like Dale Winton, we need another big man.
i was saying Lukaku would be a good signing. Just pointing out that Sturridge best spell so far was on loan
I was going to reel off a list of crap loan signings but that would be a cheap shot (and I am fully aware that there would be a similarly horrendous list of oldies). If you compare the best of each though - Walker and Derry then you can see what extra you get. The 30+ gives you the potential of surpassing the injury/career expectations and can represent a greater presence in the dressing room and a positive influence on all concerned. He has taken to being the unofficial spokesman, temporary captain at times and has surely done as much good off the field as on it. Walker came, improved the right back position and helped with the promotion push but that was it. That was a great move at the time but not something we could easily replicate now. Just my opinion. If we do
