I keep an eye on PASOTI from time to time and there is a re-occuring theme on there about people being posted on a roll of honour for their help in saving Argyle from the wolves and dustbin. People post that this one or that one should have their name on a plaque and that it be put up at Home Park for all to see and presumably pay homage to. Now this last sentence of mine should give an indication of my take on this.

If PASOTI can have a call for this why not606. Do you therefore think that some or all of the perceived savious of the club should be commemorated in this way.

Personally my answer would be no. Having read through a lot of stuff on that other site, I get the impression that quite a few have received their glory by the adulation they seem to get. I think a number of them are quite self serving however and bask in this sort of thing. Not that they haven't done their stuff mind you. Staff, players and the little boy who holds onto the bucket every home game at the steps from Barn Park are all mentioned but little is said about the silent majority who have dipped into their pockets regularly. I have donated numerous times but I don't expect to get a mention. If every season ticket holder had put in as much as me then well over £200k would have been raised and I'm not about to say how much that was. I think we will remember a lot of people including the lad with the bucket and away fans coming to join us and therefore raising a plaque, which would upset those left off it, is not necessary. Thoughts please ladies and gentlemen.

Yep Brenda, Riddler and Heaney should be stuffed and mounted outside the Lyndhurst for any passing dogs to relieve themselves.

I don´t think most fans would particularly want recognition in that way survival then promotion would be better.

PASOTI............you have to glance through 90% of garbage......just to find the 10% of good stuff. I only post on there very rarely when I can't take anymore twaddle.

I agree with Sensible [and others]. I think this is a somewhat tacky idea and inevitably it would glorify who've gained most public exposure without necessarily recognising those that have contributed significantly just out of view.

A football club should be a collective on the field and on the terraces. Collective respect will develop over the years: I imagine Peter Reid, Carl Fletcher and Romain Larrieu will always find it pretty hard to buy their own drinks in Plymouth and maybe James Brent will join them in the fullness of time........

I also agree that a roll of honour is a poor idea, the majority of supporters know who the main players (fans) our in supporting the cause and using their abilities to further the saving of PAFC.

I would suggest that they would feel rather embarrassed to have been put on a pedestal........the cause being successful is the reward that they will cherish most, and they will get our respect and thanks.

On the other hand how about a 'rogue's gallery' or Wall of Shame featuring those who got us in/deeper into the mire? A fair few of those would be easy to identify...

It would need a large plaque Western for that lot of clowns. Who would be top?
Pasoti is full of ****e, let them have there rants about everything. As you state Plym it takes a while before you find any decent reading.

I do find that those who are in the forefront of the Argyle Trust thingy do seem to blow their own trumpet a tad and are very quick to stamp on anyone with any form of alternative view to their own. Above criticism for anything but I guess they are giving a lot of their own time to help the cause so maybe are entitled to moan back if moaned at. I agree with the statement that helping save the club and knowing you helped in whatever way should be the biggest plaque which lots will always remember. At the moment it seems that time is standing still. Nearly there, nearly there, almost there................but not quite yet.
