Has a message from my Aussie contact. Referring to the post from nth London Addicks on CL he said 'all incorrect'.
Explain how I built a reputation as 'a life long Millwall fan', or a 'Millwall fan for 50 years'. Don't feed the troll.
What fake news have they leaked exactly? They have been wrong when they said, 'we hope it will be concluded next week.', but that isn't the same as leaking fake news, which is a serious charge during ongoing business negotiations.
I hope you are right. Being objective, I cannot place any more credence in your statement than I would in anything NLA has had to say. But common sense tells me this is more likely to be true than CAFC being separated from the Valley.
you said yourself that you were a Millwall fan until relatively recently.... how many years were you a Millwall fan and how many years have you been a Charlton fan? Whichever is the longer wins …. surely?
It's not a question of me being right, I'm literally repeating a short message I received. I'm not passing any comment on whether it's right or not, because how would I know. I'm not ITK. No one is, because the situation keeps changing.
OK James answer me these two simple questions, I am sure as a Charlton fan that you will have asked these of your Aussie mate … 1) have the Aussies got the money to buy and run Charlton? 2) will the Aussies insist that the Valley and the training ground are INCLUDED in the sale and not leased from the Belgian?
No I didn't say I was' a fan until recently'. I've repeatedly said I was a Millwall fan when Jimmy Seed was alive, as he used to take me to their matches. After he died in 1966 my dad who supported Charlton from 1945, before he met my mum, took me to a match at The Valley. I always knew the family history at Charlton, but the family knew he was badly treated by the club, and so the family had undertandably mixed feelings. After his passing I lost interest in football, and Millwall. When my interest in football rekindled it was Charlton I was most interested in because our house was full of Charlton memorabilia. I did write a book about his time at Charlton (in 1977) though, so of course I followed them at that time. I certainly didn't even follow millwall's results. But since '82 when I was with my mum when she opened the Jimmy Seed Stand, and I met the 1947 cup winning side, I followed the club, and went to the occasional match. Family interest you could say. I ived next door to Loftus road so wnet to matches there, but when they played Charlton i wanted charlton to win. Something happened in my private life in 2015 that I don't want to discuss here, but it resulted in me taking my youngest son to matches, and we bother really got the bug, unexpectedly if you like. Bearing in mind that was starting work on a new book about Seed at the time, It's become a bit of an obsession. I'm getting more involved with the club behind the scenes (I can't say how right now) and have given a talk to the Bromley Addicks about JS, and have dug up a film about his life made by Thames TV with help from the family, which we showed at the Bromley Film Festival. I know Royston will, now accuse me of talking about myself ('my favourite subject'), but I want to get the message out once and for all, I was a Millwall fan between the ages of 6 and 10, and haven't been since. With my family history I'd like to point out that accusations that I'm cashing in on the family name to promote 'my clickbail blog' are very serious. Libel, defamation of character, maybe. I believe I've stated my case, and will take any more attempts to blacken my name very seriously. Please don't feel the trolls. I'd like to post here, and there's one person desperate to stop me. You should ask yourself why?
No, I guess it's not the first question you would ask of somebody saying they are about to take over your Club...?? "Do you have the money?... the Belgian wants £40m , it that achievable?" …. or something like that.
So they could tell you they were "very hopeful"...they could tell you it could be "next week"...but they couldn't tell you if they have the money
Folks, to all of you asking about the finance side, he told me their aim was premier league in five years and they were funded for that. But he said two investors had to sign off on a couple of details. I think that may be where things went awry, but I’m guessing. What I didn’t talk about was the make up of the consortium, and if I’d asked, I doubt he’d have told me.
