Rodney was my hero in the 60's. He is still entertaining the crowds on Twitter. He just tweeted a line today that i wish i had thought of. "A racist, an adulterer & an England captain walk into a bar...Barman says "evening John" On a seperate note. Why was my latest Spoof about Capello and John Terry moved to another thread? I write one every now and again and a few people have said they enjoy them. Northolt always supported me in this enterprise and follows me on Twitter. Since i have been supporting QPR for over 50 years and worked there during the Alec Stock days i would hope my occasional ironic input would not be dismissed so readily. Over zealous moderation as far as i am concerned.
I think anything with Capello in the title was swept up by the Mods, it happened recently with anything with John Terry in the title. Sometimes they don't distinguish between items with a difference of emphasis and it can totally ruin the point of some threads, I personally find that bloody annoying...
Rodney is still my hero to this very day Sometimes he's a daft bugger but I forgive him everytime I always enjoy reading your spoofs Keep them coming
Your spoofs are great Rebel, I thought they came from a continuation of a 60's mag (which I've forgotten the name of, but Neasden featured heavily!) when I first saw them. Keep em coming!
My apologies Rebel. Strange place though to complain about something wrongly modded mate. This thread could've easily been overlooked as non-controversial and your very good point would've been lost. A PM to both of us would've sorted the issue out quicker - our first point of reference when we log-in. I'll PM you and Goldie to make sure we check the nature of articles more carefully before merging in future. Your article aside, I would add that self-moderation says check the threads posted before posting new ones on identical topics. People don't and we get complaints if we don't merge threads. Mindless thread posting makes a modding a chore that leads to this kind of equally mindless oversight. As for your point about your support from Northolt and for QPR in the context of one mod error... not in itself a bit over zealous then?
Me too Rebel, I was a floater until I saw Rodney's hat-trick against Birmingham in Oct 1970, for me that WAS football, the joy with which Rangers played. Coming not long after the great football in the 1970 world cup, that sense of style that the R's had hooked me instantly. Stan probably shades Rodney for me at least but Rodney was the start.
That tweet above says it all about not just Rodney but QPR creatives in general. The QPR hallmark was etched into our folklore by clown princes Rodney, Stan and Les... and to think that decades later the spark's still there. Quality. If only Adel would put all the bollox behind him and commit to us for another couple of years of serious entertainment. His name would be next on that list of maverick Rs' legends.
