This is a Brendan Rodgers interview for The Anfield Wrap today, It's a very good listen. http://llnw.libsyn.com/p/7/4/1/7411...id=4915799&h=9bdfad0597885e147292a3c5d8d802b0 Warning: Quite long.
Always a good listen in fairness. EDIT: So Lucas will be watching some games in Brazil with his LFC cap on... hmm.
Interesting listening. One thing that stands out for me is the opportunity for our younger squad players, both home grown and bought in,to work hard on the training pitches and impress enough to earn their chance. Some on the fringes can take big strides to becoming first team regulars between now and the turn of the year.
I tell you what I liked about it. You can analyse the spin, the "yes man" the "ego" all day. Most of us will do it with our presumptions in place, before during & after listening to that. Me, I liked the pure enthusiasm that man seems to have for the game. He's the kind of guy where you're in the pub; its 2am; you're pissed, seeing nothing more than the heavenly embrace of that kebab and he grabs your arm and says "but did you see that strikers movement for eastern Uzbekistan the other night...magic.... " He was subtle about it but he let us know he's not stupid, he knows he was a bit too trusting, he knows he got played, he knows he was too arrogant in thinking I'm the new boss. But despite what the Swan Wums (not all fans) will say, I think he goes away and reassesses and if your cynical it becomes page 183-4.... If you're hopeful it becomes part of his experience. Nice interview.
I enjoy listening to BR, he's very wise and I find his voice soothing lol. Just got this interview on in the background as I work
