Some of you may have seen this, it was on ESPN before the game i think. A sneak peak from "Being Liverpool" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0FkLHhJHw8&feature=youtu.be Nice to see in all fairness. Was from the US camp. You can see how he rates Sterling by giving him game time but makes sure he is in line. Good Job BR.
Good find. A but cheaky and he was put in his place. How he responds would be key. Must of been well!
To be honest it was in the training ground, just happened to be filming at the time. I think it's pretty good that the players who lost didn't get their bonus either
I'm assuming this was filmed while on the US tour? In which case Sterling obviously responded well to it judging by his performances in last couple of games. I like it though, shows that no matter how much talent you think you have, having the right attitude will get you further.
It was. Filmed the day before the Roma game i think. Nice to see he pointed out Morgan as who to be as good as.
Like his attitude with the youngsters.......they need to know they have not made it yet, especially when some of them get as hyped as they do, (sorry bout that.) Ive been quite harsh on BR at times since he joined, but after todays poerformance and seeing bits from training like this, the guy is growing on me for sure!
Nothing at all wrong with it and if I was giving instruction and a 17 yr old who, yes has talent, but has done sweet **** all yet told me "Steady= calm down" to my instruction I would given him a bollocking too. Nice to see thougha nd obviously Sterling responded well to it. I agree on the bonus as well, hey you **** around you lose your $.
Great to see and if only every manager showed this trait to younger players, perhaps the attitude that players show just might change! I do however, hope this is how Rodgers is across the board and uses this style towards the senior players too, easy to flex your muscles against young players but the mark of a man is been able to treat EVERYONE equally!
well he dropped downing didn't he? i hope we see him sell cole and such soon and then we need to take one decent display, cut out the errors and start winning PRONTO.
Not so much a lesson for Sterling as for the muppets who want U18s thrown in as soon as they get a few U18 goals. Theres a lot more to being 1st XI than a bit of pace.
Exactly. There is an enormous chasm between u18s and reserves, there is an even bigger one between reserves and first team. Thats not mentioning the competition. I can remember a few years back, Martin Kelly coming from absolutely nowhere and establishing himself in the squad. There was one or two in front of him and he left them behind. Thats why complacency won't be accepted. The likes of Tom Ince and David Amoo blitzed the u18s and when it came to the reserves, they stank the place out. Brendan was right to do what he did, and he should be just as tough on the senior players. Hopefully Downing having been dropped will give him the kick up the arse he needs.
Better than a Chelsea documentary: Lampard and Terry (with his kit under his suit) speaking to the 'team' with RDM having a warm milk in the background. Frank hands out the wages, while Terry asks to leave to go sleep with one of the new guys wife. Cashley butts in to see if John can hook him up with someone as well. The camera then pans to the left to see abramovich and cech bullying mikel for being crap and threatening to replace him.
I would imagine BR is with you on that. I am sure he could have done without cameras following his every move but he will accept that its part of fsg plans to promote the club. Really pleased that he has not compromissed his values or standards just because the cameras are lurking, and was using the pre season to establish his ethic regardless.
