I think this is some of the best football we have played this season, especially against a top 6 side. We have been all over Hull and not let them settle at all, the tempo has been spot on.
Watching the game on Robins TV and is it my imagination that the commentary is a split second ahead of the actual play?
I should have shut up because now I have no commentary and Hull have just scored. Poor defending and the shot beat Max all hands down.
Great finish, but no challenge from Dickie, just let him run across and shoot….not good enough as that was preventable
Our defence is struggling to get the ball away and it doesn't help when you can't control the ball enough to make the clearance. We need to up the ante or we will get nothing.
Not convinced about the penalty for Hull but there it is and they score to take a 2-1 lead into the half-time. Phaffing around in your own penalty area, like we have for the first 40 minutes, can always lead to what just happened.
By far the better side quality side Hull-don’t see us getting anything second half. They got some quality in that side.
When we get serious pressure from any team that plays better than us we tend to fold too easily because our defensive prowess is sadly lacking. Another thing that irks me is that our second touch is rarely as good as the first one and that allows our opponent to nip the ball away and return to their attack. Never good enough and the cracks can't be covered over at this level and the unfortunate half-time score is a symptom of our woes. Three points today will go a long way to giving us a reasonable start to the New Year but only if we come back for the win and get some decent luck at Watford. Come on City give us some Christmas cheer.
Could someone tell City that you need to create, and use, options and chances but unfortunately we have nobody out there who knows that fact? We give the ball away too easily.
First subs coming on. City are powder puff up front and certain players hold on to the ball far too long and then lose control to Hull. Hull want the ball more than we do and although we are still in the game I can see another Hull goal, rather than a lacklustre Bristol City.
Thankfully we just got away with one after Max's usual clearing pass went straight to Hull and there were a few more blunders in the last 10 minutes.
