No, haven't read it. I do remember what a great prospect he looked, great shame how it turned out.

 

He was more than just a prospect but there is no doubt he would have improved. What I find frustrating is if it had happened nowadays he would probably have received surgery and then carried on. Gary Neville wouldn't have as many caps as he has got if Jones hadn't have been cruelly taken out of the equation IMO

 

I remember him having Giggs in his pocket on his debut. The best full back I've ever seen in a Reds shirt. I haven't read it but should be good.

My favourite game of his was Villa coming to Anfield, Tony Daley had been flying for game after game and looked unstoppable. Jones got switched to left back to combat him and Daley never got past him once all game. Class act.

 

You mean that game where everyone looked at the team sheet and said "Rob who...?"

 

I think we'd only signed him a couple of days before. Apparently Souness had been to Crewe to watch someone else play and not Jones

 

No! You can't give credit to Souness, you just can't

 

Mate I could slate him for lots of things, including playing Jones when he was injured but that was his finest signing by a long way. If only every other time he'd gone to scout a player he'd ended up signing someone else eh

 

Suanders wasn't bad, nor was Mark Wright. But I know what you mean

 

A great full back I was a big fan of him in my youth.
