Martin O'Neill has wiped the slate clean at Sunderland and is planning to run an eye over those players currently taking in loan spells elsewhere. I think Riveros' style would suit the skills of both Sess and Bendtner, for the short term, until the Summer, just as cover you understand. New Year's Day travel advice - There will be no public transport in operation when Sunderland take on Manchester City on New Year's Day.
I agree. The lad is a class act, and if MON could get him playing to his Paraguay standards, could save the club millions. Not forgetting that his best game in the shirt was his last at West Aaaaaaam, including a nicely taken goal. Surely he is worth the chance.
Delighted to read that. Riveros is a good player, aqnd his failure is down to Steve Bruce's inability to manage him
Ha ha. He should bring Cisse, Bent, David Connolly, Danny Collins and Marco Gabbiadini with him, on that basis. I vote for!
I'm not so sure about bringing him back in January. I'm an admirer, make no mistake. But South American football is very different from ours. If he needs a year to toughen up out in Turkey, I say bear with the lad. When we do bring him back, I think he'll take us forward. He is class, so give him time. I wish the lad well.
It'slike has been said tho marra, in the move the ball quicker style of MON, he could be a diamond. I don't buy the physical line, Zola?
I do think hes the answer to our creativity problem in central midfield. Especially if he sits in the catts role and can disrupt the play as well as spraying balls all over the shop allowing a vaughan, gardener types to bomb forward. Just think we'll need to offload someone from CM in order to accomodate him. Catts maybe, as I dont want to see young Jack leave, unless its on loan to a prem team.
The only CM's we have that i 100% want to stay are Meyler and Vaughan. I don't WANT any of the others to go, but i wouldn't be heartbroken. Riveros is a cut above.
This. Benayun Modric Hernandez Silva all slightly built players who are perfectly able to manage the rough and tumble of the PL. You could put Noble in the same size bracket, so let's see what he can do at this level.....
O.k. lads, I wouldn't argue. If MON thinks Riveros is ready to bring back in January, let's go for it. If MON doesn't think he's quite ready yet, then bear with him. All I'm saying is this is a class act - so let's get him right. I'll leave it to MON.
I could be wrong, but didn't Nexus put free Metro travel etc to anyone with a Mag season ticket last time they played on a New Year? It looks like six mile hike for me and my boys, because I begrudge paying the OTT taxi prices this time of year..
TBF I struggle to have an opinion on Riveros because I dont thi nk he had a chance here and have no idea why Brucie bought him, same with a few others mind. Kilgallon Gardner Vaughan are three more I would include, good or bad we did not see a lot of any of them under Bruce.
You must be a liar - you mentioned "Bendtner" and "skills" in the same sentence! Sorry couldn't resist. Think Riveros is a good midfielder. Just never given a run in the side under Bruce and he may need that. Reads the game fantastically well and has a great eye for a pass.
But when does his contract run out? MoN may need to have a look at him, in order to decide what to do..
I'll be working on our lass to give me and my two boys a lift, so I will be watering her drinks down at our New Years Party.
