Sergio Ramos has managed to get sent off for the 18th time in his career, somehow. Trailing 2-0 to Osasuna, he picked up two yellows before half-time. Real went on to nick a 2-2 draw.
Looks like the "concertina" effect is coming into play now for the 6oon3rs, as all the first half of season games are played. One quick stat check shows that there are a lot more teams in the top 7 with more pts than for the corresponding time 1/2 seasons ago. And the league leader is 5 pts off track for the corresponding periods.
Tony pullis getting the best out of chamakh, unlikely success story if that continues. Palace to beat the drop
I watched the most boring, pathetic display of football today and it finished Hull 0 Stoke 0. They played as if it was the last game of the season with nothing to play for. With Huddlestone taking all the corners and free kicks, which usually found a Stoke head.Awful! p.s.Now both Spurs and Arsenal have a bone to pick with Man City when they come to town!!!!!!? p.p.s.The Special one must have been down on his prayer mat before the game.Anyway...it worked..just!
I must admit I often though he wasn't doing himself any favours by being scruffy and dour in his interviews. I am not at all surprised at this decision. The club had made no move whatsoever to renew his contract and I often wondered what the fuss was all about with Clarke.
They had a period of playing some fab football this year but it was obviously just that, nothing long term and Steve Clarke will go down with all the other top number 2's who have a crack at management, they have their moments but they get found out!
West Brom sporting and technical director Richard Garlick said: "We have reluctantly come to the decision to relieve Steve of his duties after very careful consideration. "It has been well documented that we have not had the rub of the green in certain games this season but that does not cloud the generally disappointing points return during this calendar year. "This club's track record proves we do not take such decisions lightly, having only enforced a change in this position three times in approximately 14 years. "But with key games coming thick and fast, we felt it was important we acted now to give the club the best possible chance of a successful outcome this season. "Our player wage bill is the highest in the club's history and we feel we have built a squad capable of being very competitive in the Premier League." ---------------- With Shane Long and Brunt they should attract someone special , failing that, there is always Alan Curbishley! There aren't many managers out there so I hope they have someone decent in mind.
Isn't Matteo still being paid by Chelsea, until June 2014. If so he will probably wait until next season.
Yeah it appears true from looking online as apparently that's why he also never showed any interest in the Sunderland and Fulham jobs, as he couldn't reach a settlement with Chelsea over his contract.
Lol, I never realised when watching the game yesterday that the city fans were singing "are you tottenham in disguise".
