Can you tell me why you feel the need to highjack every thread and create petty arguments? even on very sensitive threads like this one. 2 young women lost their lives today at the hands of a coward and all you want to do is stir up ****e, WHY?

Did you not get any attention from your parents as a child? were you bullied at school? did you even go to school? you are one sad ballbag for sure.

Justice in this country is a joke - 2 life sentences served back to back = 50 years. be out in 25 - some for good behaviour (I used to work in the Courts Service and this is definitely true) - the most galling thing you hear is when a judge says "You've been inside for 18 months which is equivalent to a 3 year sentence" HOW!

Should be locked up for the rest of his life IMO

As a serving Police Officer I made a point of not getting involved in the ' other ' thread as I may have said things I would have later come to regret. What I would like to say is this...theres good and bad in every profession, but in the cold light of day no one dserves to die for carrying out their duties and more significantly I want folk to understand that as a front line cop , this is the sort of risk and threat we put ourselves under every day we go out on the streets. Not looking for praise, admiration , respect (believe that has to be earned) or anything...just want folk to understand...because according to some on here..we are not worth a jot.

He'll not get what he deserves, we all know that, as for being a coward, I totally agree, he handed himself in because he knew full well armed police would be after him & knowing that this **** has a chance to be armed & has proven he is prepared to use firearms & explosives, they'll shoot first, he's proven to everyone he's nothing more than a yellow dog.

Like I said on another thread after my rant about the police, they didn't deserve to be shot just because of their jobs or uniform, that scum had no right to take their lives. I'll always have sympathy for them, their families & friends in times like this.

I agree with what you say, but you have to admit some off your colleagues leave a lot to be desired, these are the ones that cause more problems for the good honest coppers amongst you & I'll be honest, I'd sooner have a good honest copper any day than a criminal

Of course. Maybe the bad in your profession are more noticed as they are there purely to do good and protect people? I have been in contact with about 6 police in my time, some were for issues regarding myself, others regarding friends or family, and I can say 2 of those lied unashamedly. One trivial, one not so trivial. Either way, I don't doubt there are many many good police officers, my uncle was one of them, but the bad ones definitely damage the reputation of those genuinely doing their best.

And shieldscat, I echo your sentiments in above posts.

I stayed from the other threads concerning police (alleged) behaviour as I wanted to ask the questions I did.

Since no-one answered the questions I asked about becoming a policeman or their children joining the police - not one answer. However there seemed to be a cross section of opinion which reflects society today.

Thanks for the posts and out of respect for the officers involved I would like this to be the last post on this thread.
