Just heard that Dave Cash one of the original R1 DJ's has also passed away. WTF is going on today? RIP Dave Cash - hopefully now making great heavenly radio with Kenny Everett EDIT: apologies his passing was the 21st October not today!
Famed '60s anti-war activist Tom Hayden, whose name became forever linked with the celebrated Chicago 7 trial, Vietnam War protests and his ex-wife actress Jane Fonda, has died. He was 76. He died on Sunday after a long illness, said his wife, Barbara Williams.
Brazil legend Carlos Alberto, the captain of the 1970 World Cup-winning side, has died aged 72. He scored one of the greatest goals in World Cup history in the 1970 final against Italy, rounding off a sublime team move with a powerful low finish. Right-back Alberto was capped 53 times by Brazil and won domestic titles with Fluminense and Santos, for whom he made more than 400 appearances. He died in Rio de Janeiro following a heart attack.
Always been a favourite of mine. He was influenced by Buddy Holly and Bob Dylan was a member of his backing for a brief while. RIP. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Vee

I remember watching that game on a black and white TV, colour was a dream for 90%of the population given the price then. Can just imagine the crowd at the KC during that move. Stop tip tapping it about! Gerrit forrarrd for ****'s sake! Oh, worra goal!
From what I've been reading tc it was Bob Dylan who persuaded Bobby Vee to change his name from Velline, not surprising from the former Mr Zimmerman.
One of the most gifted and tallented sides in that era of football something we just do not see the likes of now with today's tepid offerings. RIP.
